MotoeXotica is pleased to announce our latest addition, 1969 Ford Mustang convertible that is believed to be an original Playboy Pink Mustang. Ford’s Mustang became the fastest selling car in history with over a million sold with in the first production year. Despite their popularity, ertain editions are almost unheard of, uch is the case with this Mustang convertible. Pink was never offered as a color choice from Ford’s factory, ut Playboy Pink is one of the few exceptions. Playboy Pink was a factory special-order color to commemorate the custom pink Mustang given to Playmate of the year in 1964; for the next few years each Playmate of the year was awarded with that model year Playboy Pink Mustang. Contrary to popular belief, hese Mustangs were not exclusively owned by Playmates; any customer could place a special-order from Ford and have a Playboy Pink Mustang. Production numbers where never released of how many first generation Playboy Pink Mustangs were created, ut the number is believed to be extremely low making those Mustangs extremely desirable. Fearing public backlash from being associated with Playboy, ord never officially recognized this color in factory records.

From looking at the door jams, nderside of the dash, ood, nd removing the carpet and other characteristics from factory paint jobs, e made the judgement that this appears to be a factory painted Playboy Pink Mustang. The paint is in very good condition with only minor scratches and imperfections and presents extremely well. The body panels are straight and show only very minor signs of age. Both front and rear bumpers appear to have been replaced, ith no signs of age or damage to be found. Other exterior brightwork trim is also in goodcondition. A white manual convertible top compliments the Playboy Pink exterior extremely well and is also in fantastic condition. In addition a Brand New, hite Top Boot will be included.

Taking a step inside a very clean and original interior greets the eye. Two front bucket white vinyl seats, hich appear to be the original material, re in very good condition. There are no tears or discoloration that would be worth noting in the seats. Most of the interior chrome accessories and badges are in their place and in very good condition, nly showing very minor signs of age. New black carpet lines the floorboards and shows very little wear. All of the gauges are original, s well as, he steering wheel and are in very good working condition. Factory air-conditioning was optioned on this Mustang, he original controls are present, owever the compressor does not engage. An older Kenwood Anac radio is in the dashboard, owever the original Philco radio is still with the car. The stereo benefits from upgraded Polk speakers in both doors and rear seat, hese speakers have a vastly improved sound quality.

Mechanically this Mustang is powered by a 302ci V8 making a healthy 220hp and 300lb-ft this Ford small block has more than enough muscle to match today’s muscle cars. Bringing fuel to the engine is the stock 2-barrel carburetor and intake manifold with the original air filter cover. Dual exhausts with twin-tips exit at the rear with the distinctive Mustang engine note. Mated with Ford’s 302 is a 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts as it should with no issues. Front disc brakes and rear drums stop this Playboy Pink Mustang with confidence; GT chrome hub caps with pink lettering cover the black steel wheels. Finally this car benefits from newer Michelin radial tires that have plenty of tread wear left to cruise on.
