Restoration Receipts SELLER REMARKS The Ford Mustang Boss 302 is an icon among icons. a car from the pinnacle of the muscle car era that does more with less and as a result has become a blue-chip collectable. And for many of us. there's one in the past that got away. and now with prices on these cars skyrocketing. we thought we'd never get to own one of these awesome cars. Well. this 1969 Boss 302 proves that real Boss 302s are still out there for attainable prices. Now. we're not going to tell you that this is a perfect car. because you've already figured that out by the price. However. you're looking because you're interested in an affordable Boss. and this one is definitely a real-deal G-code Boss 302. It's an older restoration that's ready for driving. and if you've experienced a Boss 302 already. then you know that driving is what they do best. Code 9 Bright Yellow is this car's original color and it was pretty popular in 1969. probably because of how well it contrasts with the blacked out hood and Shinda-designed side stripes. The paint is showing a bit of age. but a professional buff would make it shine and still keep you on a budget. The Boss graphics are expertly applied and the body doesn't show any critical issues that would suggest a checkered past. Rear window slats. a rear spoiler. and the blacked-out tail panel all work well with the Bright Yellow paint and nice chrome bumpers to give this Boss just the right look. The black interior is especially nice. with reproduction seat covers on the original buckets. correct door panels. and the critical 4-speed shifter. The seats look upscale in the Mustang's all-black interior. and you can see why this was such a great place to do the serious business of driving fast. Factory gauges are original and a little faded. and they've been joined by a Sunpro tachometer on the steering column to keep an eye on the fast-revving 302. The original AM radio is still in the dash. but you'll never even use it because the sound of the engine will be more than enough entertainment. no matter what you're doing. The shifter is a proper Hurst unit. complete with cue ball knob. and the factory steering wheel is a little upscale with a built-in horn ring. The back seat looks almost new. and the neatly finished trunk offers a correct mat and space-saver spare. The 302 cubic inch V8 that is the heart of the Boss is a period-correct replacement block rebuilt using 351 Cleveland heads. a Crower cam. roller rockers. and an 800 CFM Holley double-pumper. so it's quite nasty on the streets. It's correctly dressed in Ford Blue with a big air cleaner and proper reproduction decals. Other boss details include the rev limiter on the inner fender and reproduction hoses and clamps that show someone cared about doing it right. It starts easily and runs great. pulling the car around with genuine authority. The 4-speed Toploader transmission doesn't mind the extra power running through it and the 9-inch rear has 3. 50 gears inside. a nice compromise between acceleration and usability. Flowmaster supplied the exhaust. so you know it sounds awesome. and one glance underneath and you'll see that this really is a clean Boss. Factory Magnum 500 wheels are the best choice on any late-60s Mustang. with this one wearing 235/60/15 BFG radials. This is your chance to get into a real-deal Boss 302 for a very affordable price. If you're going to quibble over correctness. this isn't your car. But if you've dreamed of owning one of these. this is possibly your last chance to do so for under $50. 00.
