Up for sale is a beautiful 1950 Ford F3 truck! 1948-1950 were the first three years of the post-WW series of Ford trucks that featured the "monkey face" grill. This was changed to the three knuckle version for 1951-1952. They also features Ford's new "million dollar cab". The F3 was the original version of today's F350, ton truck.
This is a beautifully weathered, riginal Ford truck. It has lived happily in a studio in Florida the last couple of years and it ready for its next owner. Its value is to someone who would like to keep the finish as is and either restore it to a stock driver/show car or make a first class rat rod out of it. My original intention was to do the latter, ut do not have time in the foreseeable future and need the space in my warehouse. It is not a good candidate to restore fully as it would be a shame to refinish the killer exterior that 60+ northern winters helped to create. Yes, hat appears to be a large caliber bullet hole in the nose! This truck has lots of character! The pictures were taken inside the studio; the props surrounding the truck are not included with the truck.
This is an originally northern truck with a terrific patina over original red paint. You cannot faux paint this look - it is the real deal. Truck is solid and very complete with the exception of a missing tailgate for the original metal bed. It ran when I parked it (really!), ut smoked like crazy and likely needs engine work. Needs brakes and tires, oo. One goes flat over time, ut all four hold air long enough for transport on another vehicle. The electrical system appears to have a partial 12V conversion (battery and 12V alternator), ut the headlamps were 6V. We changed them to 12V and ran them from a power supply as the truck has been used as a prop in a studio for the last couple of years. This means that, lthough in Florida, t has never been outdoors and has not been exposed to the semi-tropical humidity and rain.
The engine is the preferred flathead 8 (8BA) paired with the also favored 4-speed floor shift. Many trucks in this series were only 3 speeds. Hub caps and bench seat appear to be original and are included. Side glass was removed before I purchased it, ut is available for sale on various websites. Windshield cracked. Rear window is OK. Bed is original, ith a sheet metal panel installed over the original wood bed which is still underneath! The bed is not attached, s the previous owner removed a dump mechanism and set the bed on the frame before shipping it to us. We will ship in the same manner, ith the bed ratchet strapped to the frame. Local pick up or send your shipper. The truck will be ready for pick up promptly after payment clears. Clear title conveys with the truck, oo. No surprises.
Again, his is a solid 65-year-old truck with an abundance of character which needs the right owner to give it its next life. I have provided the details that come to mind, ut please ask before bidding. I want the buyer to know what is is getting and love the truck when he receives it. Will provide honest answers to all questions promptly. Thanks for looking and good luck if you bid. Also for sale locally. We reserve the right to cancel this listing at any time.
