For sale is a very dry Colorado Ford F5 Cab Over truck. It’s a 1951. Recently pulled from long term storage, itting for over 15 years.
Thorough and honest photo link here: This F5 is a 1 1/2 ton chassis with the Ford Flathead Inline 6, 26 ci. Dually rear wheels. Headache rack welded on at some point, asily removable.
This has the original Flathead 6 cylinder that came with it. Everything is there and complete.
At this point I haven’t done anything to try and start it. Will go out when the weather is warmer and pull plugs and inspect.
For the inside, he cab is very complete. With the exception of the seats being gone. Also, he inside of the truck smells fine, ith no evidence of mice having been in it. Solid floors.
The dash and gauges are all as original. Gauge glass is not cracked, here is some surface rust around the chrome trim rings. The radio is no longer there, ut dash has not been cut.
See the photos for the cab corners. Drivers side lower has a little rust, nd p side fender has a welded seam on the outer edge. Bullet hole in the back driver side. The front bumper is remarkably straight with no dings or bends in it.
For the glass, he driver side vent wing is missing, he rear is cracked. Good news is the windshield and side pieces are there and solid with no chips or cracks.
The tires are all old, ut holding air for rolling around. This still has the original rear axle, ut pretty easy to swap in a newer dually axle with discs if you want to go that route. The rear driveshaft has a big kink in it so plan on replacing that.
I can see this truck being taken in a few directions, ny of them could turn out really cool...1. Take it as it is, ork on the drivability, dd some seats, ut on a flatbed and it's a nice and complete patina ranch/farm/shop truck.2. Install a winch behind the cab and a flatbed and make it a car hauler.3. Go Cab Over hot rod style and drop a big v8 motor or diesel in it and clear coat the patina and hot rod/drag race/whatever it to your liking.
This F5 is sold WITHOUT a title, lthough it states "clear" above, nd with a bill of sale. It's been out of the Colorado system for long enough (see the ‘73 plate) thatthe old title has been purged. Depending on your state rules this can be a relatively easy/inexpensive process.
Ask questions before bidding if you are unsure. Available for local inspection in Boulder, olorado. If you live far and needto have a transporter pick it up I can facilitate that. If you live in Colorado, elivery for a fee is possible.
