1962 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
Purchased in San Antonio Texas in 1981, his Thunderbird had the same owner for the last thirty four years.
It is from the estate of a very good friend of mine.
It is well equipped with Factory Air Conditioning, ower Windows and of course a power top. The original radio works excellent.
All the power windows work as when new,
We rebuilt the power top motor and replaced one of the lift cylinders
and the top works excellent.
We removed the gas tank and had it cleaned, hecked all the lines and it cranked up and ran excellent, o noise, o smoke, ot or cold.
It idles perfectly and accelerates with no hesitation.
The the previous owner had the original engine rebuilt, have the receipt, and it was only driven about 9000. miles in the past thirty plus years. The air breather and valve covers were chromed. The engine compartment needs to be pressure washed and I would have done it except I do not have water were it is located.
When I got the car a couple of months ago, had the brake hoses replaced, ll the wheel cylinders and master cylinder rebuilt but it still needs a booster.
The interior is very nice for it's age but there are two small cracks in the dash by the speaker and there is a small wear spot on the edge of the drivers seat, ee photos. The door panels and trim are very nice.
The top fits excellent and the rear window is clear but there is a small cut underneath the rear window. see photo
As you will see in the photos the undercarriage is solid and all original and shows no rust or rust repairs. The only possible rust may be under three small spots one bubble behind each rear wheel, ee photo and about three smaller bubbles on the right rear edge of the decklid. The paint, hough old, s very shiny but has several nicks and a small scratch from long term storage. The body is very straight.
