NO RESERVE !! HIGHEST BID WINS !!
You're looking at a 1928 Model A (Double A or AA) 1 1/2 ton Flatbed Truck. It is a Southern California truck and has stayed in California. The truck is rust-free. It was sold new to a farmer in Warner Springs, A. He hauledapples from Julian to San Diego andvegetables from Warner Springs to Riverside/Los Angeles on the Butterfield Overland Stage route. The original owner passed away in 1978 and sold it to the caretaker of the ranch. He owned it for two years and sold it to the family that still owns it today. In the early '80's the grandfather used it to give hay rides in local parades and family gatherings. The ranch in Warner Springs was sold in 2005 and the truck was given to his grandson who has stored the truck inside since then.
The seat has been recovered and still looks great, o rips or stains. He recently had the truck detailed and the paint polished. (In the videos the truck looks dirty because it had rained the day before) It looks good and shiny but does have some imperfections, .e., mall chips, cratches, tc. To his knowledge it was restored in the '80's. It has a new 6-volt battery and starts every time. The motor runs great. The original motor stamped number and VIN number on the title are matching, eaning this is the original motor for the truck. The odometer reads 31,352 but the actual mileage is unknown. The tires hold air but have dry cracking. The floor mat is ripped. The front windshield is cracked right in the center. The door glass is good and rolls up and down fine. All the wood is nice, o rot, ut it will need to be resealed. None of the wood needs to be replaced. I was told that it is an early 1928 model due to the location of the emergency brake and the presence of the red wheel. The brakes and emergency brake work. The wiring is good. The lights work. The vinyl top material is nice, ut the molding on the sides is wrong. The truck has a shifter near the seat that is for the dual high transmission. The original Model A instruction book (which is included with the truck) indicates that this option gives the truck 1/3 more pulling power. I was told that this is a very rare option. People bought this option for going up and down the California hills. The truck comes with a motor crank and full truck/car cover as shown in the blue bag. For shipping purposes, he truck is 17 feet long, 1/2 feet wide and 6 1/2 feet tall. It will fit on a regular 16 foot car trailer with no problem.
This is a great American piece of history! It would be a nice advertising tool for your business and a good tax write-off! It has a clean California title in non-op status. No liens or back fees.
Again, his is a true auction !! No reserve !! High bid wins !!
If you need more information (a walk around description) or more specific pictures, ou can email me or call me, ike, nbsp;at (760) 519-3478. You're also more than welcome to come look at the truck.
This vehicle is being sold as is with no implied warranty. If I have not had contact from the winning bidder within three days of the end of the auction, will assume you are a non-paying bidder and will proceed through the ebay steps accordingly. Payment is to be paid in full within 7 days of the end of the auction and pickup within 10 days of the end of the auction unless other arrangements are agreed upon.
