- Guy running the smog test said it was the cleanest running passenger truck he's ever tested
I have receipts for all the work that has been done on the truck since I bought it.
This truck spent most of its initial time going back and forth across Texas. Hence, he good bulk of this truck's 306,000 miles were truly highway miles. Hence the reason for the auxiliary tank. This truck was filled up and wouldn't need to stop again for over 1,000 miles. Auxiliary fuel tanks along can go for $2,000 +. So if you don't want or need the auxiliary fuel tank... it can also be easily removed and you can sell that. I kept it in there just in case someone wanted / needed it. But if you didn't want it... I can have it taken out.
I'm one of the business brokers for the Harley Davidson Roadside Assistance program. I had previously spent most of my time behind a desk. However, oing so was driving me crazy. Hence I wound up buying this truck so that I could do local motorcycle tows in and around Denver. However it wasn't until after I bought it... that I found out that I wouldn't need a truck THIS big to tow motorcycles.
I purchased this truck from one of my clients (Manheim Auctions) this past summer in San Antonio, X. I wound up flying down to San Antonio with my daughter to pick it up and drive it home. It drove back solid and strong. That said, f I was going to be towing motorcycles all over town... I had my mechanic go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb and had him repair and replace anything that he didn't think was top notch.
This truck cleans up well. That said, t's still a work truck and has some blemishes and some wear on the paint in a couple of areas.
The interior is nice and clean. I like the black leather interior, hich is definitely hard to find. The driver's seat does show a little wear and has a small tear in the leather, ut nothing huge that I thought needed replacing.
The bed of the truck does NOT have any third wheel ball or hook up. Hence... it doesn't look like this truck ever did any major pulling that would put any extra wear on the engine.
The engine itself runs like a top... nice and strong. Prior to this truck I had never owned a diesel before. Thus far in the winter... I have not had to plug it in to warm the engine. It always starts right up on the first crank... and I wouldn't hesitate to drive this truck across the country. The air conditioner blows cold and the heat works just fine and keeps us warm in our Colorado winters.
The only thing that is wrong with the truck is that sometimes the front window switches on the driver's side can be a bit temperamental. But other than that, verything that needed to be fixed or replaced, as been fixed or replaced.
Lastly, he EGR on this truck has been deleted. If you know anything about that... you know that means that it's often night and day how this truck runs and greatly reduces the likelihood and the cost of any repairs. That said when I found out that the EGR was deleted... I was initially concerned that it would not pass emissions. But then when I took it to the testing center... it passed with flying colors. And as mentioned above, he guy doing the testing said that it was the cleanest running passenger diesel truck he has ever tested. Hence I definitely did not have any problem titling this truck in Colorado
If you have any other specific questions, ust give me a call or write me a text.
Thanks for looking.
