This 1950 Ford Custom Coupe hits that perfect balance of a cherished classic with its cream/chrome exterior, nd a bad boy with a tuned V8 lurking in the engine bay. This makes for a total package that is as easy to love as a comfortable cruiser or your incognito hot rod. Take a good look at this one, ecause it's one of the nicest 1950 Fords in existence thanks to a recent complete frame-off restoration. Today we would call any two-door car like this a coupe, ut Ford called it a sedan in 1950. You can instantly see why in its profile with the large rear roll down windows. The benefit of a bodystyle like this not only gives the rear passengers more room, ut you also get to educate a few people at the car shows as they search for the rear door handle. Like any good 1950s car there's plenty of chrome on the bumpers and on the highly stylized grille. In the middle of that bullet nose there's an "8" just so everyone knew back then that you were piloting the big motor, nd today that holds even more true (more on that in a moment.) In total, his has less ornamentation than later 50s cars, hich allows people to really appreciate the investment in the concours-worthy Meadowlark Yellow paint. It looks fantastic on the body, nd it even looks great in the little places such as the alternating color on the stylized wheel trim.Inside there's been a lot of work to give this basic Ford plenty of modern and premium touches without jeopardizing the period-correct appearance. The custom brown seats have comfortable suede inserts. It's a uniform pattern and color that is repeated on the door panels and carpeting. The dash and instrument panel are stock with the big round speedometer nestled behind the Custom line's chrome ring wheel. But then you start to notice all the extra touches such as the upgraded AM/FM radio and air conditioning controls both of which were never available in 1950 but have been attached so well that it looks like they came from the factory. This one doesn't forget to upgrade the driver, oo, ith the tall Lokar gearshift and the center-mounted tach. We've already alluded to something special under the hood, nd you're probably already gone ahead to see the pictures of the 350 cubic-inch crate motor. If you think it's sacrilegious to install a Chevy small-block V8 under the hood of a Ford, ou'll change your mind when you realize that there is no better way to get a reliable and infinitely upgradeable powertrain. In fact, his is a BluePrint crate motor that already has a performance intake, delbrock four-barrel carburetor, nd finned valve covers. This motor provides plenty of power for the shoebox Ford, nd makes some nice gutsy noises out of the dual glass pack exhaust. The engine is also backed up by GM's trusty 700R4 automatic transmission with a 2800 RPM stall converter to keep you in the ideal powerband. But this classic Ford is set up to be more than just a hot rod. The four-speed gearbox has overdrive. Combine this with power steering and the versatile 3.27 rear end, nd this creates a package that's also comfortable cruising on the highway. This is the custom vintage car that leaves you wanting for nothing. Your wild side loves the big V8, nd your practical side loves the A/C and room for everyone. This is the responsible kind of cool even the restoration receipts and value price reflects that. Call today!!!
