Up for sale is my 1972 Ford Thunderbird. It's been my project for a year now and I've done many things to it. Reason I'm selling is because I bought a second '72 T-bird that in fact is in better shape than this one with more of the options I am actually looking for, nd I also need the money from this sale to go towards purchasing a house. So with that being said, ere's the stats on the car:
- 400M motor. The car DID come FACTORY with the 400M for the first 3 months of production back in 1972. The car was built 8/71, o it has the 400M as the factory engine. I have done the following to it:
- Motorcraft 4bbl 4300 carb-Weiand stealth intake-MSD Blaster 2 coil-Recent tune up with new cap, otor, lugs, ires, oints and condensor-New air cleaner-All new belts, oses and lines-Dual exhaust off manifolds to Thrush Turbo mufflers-New timing chain-High volume Milodon aluminum water pump-Chrome Valve covers
- 3 speed C6 trans. New pan gasket and filter. Filled with Type F fluid from Penzoil.
- Ford 9" rear end.
- Rebuilt brakes including:-New master cylinder (needs to be bled)-New lines from Master to proportioning valve-Brake pads and shoes-Replaced passenger rotor-Front brake hoses replaced
- Interior. Lots of work done here:-Seats re-upholstered by previous owner-Power window motors rebuilt-NO RADIO INCLUDED-Rebuilt turn signal switch-All dash lights replaced-Power antenna module rebuilt
- Exterior. Needs some help here:-Drivers side fender rusty. Was an older restoration, ut bondo starting to fall off.-Windshield needs replacing
Basically this car is a worthy candidate for restoration. Only 2,006 of this car was ever built with this driveline option. Starts right up and runs fine. Tires are in okay condition, ut the rears are getting low on tread. Fronts are fine. Comes with original spare tire and jack as well.
****Car is not currently road worthy. While sitting a brake line rotted out so car has minimal/no brakes so it will need to be towed.****
There are multiple aftermarket parts all new in box for the 400 as well. Parts include 2 intakes (dual quad and normal 4bbl), amshaft, ockers, tc. Basically everything needed to do a top end refurb on the motor to upgrade it. Also have all the original parts, uch as the stock 2bbl manifold, ir cleaner (in decent shape), tc.
