I am selling my 1973 Ford LTD Country Squire Brougham station wagon with 118,400 original miles. It has a 6.6L 400 V8 engine and automatic transmission.
This WAS a beautiful car that drove wonderful but while I was driving it today it suddenly caught on fire, ompletely burnt up the dashboard, nstrument cluster, nbsp;engine compartment, nd windshield. Fireman came and used a big crowbar to open my once perfect hood. They also broke the front grill and damaged the green panel in front of the hood and sprayed it with water. The fenders are burnt too as you can see in the picture. They may fixable but I don't have experience in repairing fire-damaged vehicles to know for sure. The driver front tire blew while the car burned. There are a ton of good parts including doors, ost of the exterior, ims, ub caps, hree tires, xhaust, ack seats and everything from the back seats to the back bumper.
The fire just happened hours ago. It smells pretty bad. I had it towed to our house and put a tarp over the engine compartment. I have not made any attempt to clear out the ashes and damaged parts to assess what is left. I just don't have the replacement dashboard and wiring to fix it.
I had big plans for this wagon. Rather than send it to the wrecking yard, hope somebody with love, assion, atience, oney and replacement parts will buy and restore it.
It spent most of its life in dry Arizona.
Before the fire damage it had a new steering box, lternator, oltage regular and front brake hoses.
The back seats are in excellent condition. The front seats WERE in excellent condition.
It ran great with non-ethanol gas.
Includes trailer hitch and fog lights mounted on the front bumper. There is no third seat.
With restoration repairs and parts I was into it $6k. Even the fireman and police all expressed their condolences. Nobody was hurt in the fire--just my pride.
You must pay for transporting it after you buy it. I am sure my landlord will want it removed ASAP.
