Up for sale is my 2000 F250 XLT 4x4 pickup with the legendary bulletproof 7.3L Powerstroke diesel. It's a Longbox Extended Cab with the 4r100 Automatic transmission. 221,790 miles -- so this 7.3 has a lot of life left. The truck has a clean title with no accidents, nd I have the Carfax report.
The good:
The engine is 100% stock, nd has never been tuned or chipped. It's in great shape and has a lot of power! It starts up every time, nd doesn't blow any smoke, r have any smells out of the exhaust, ven at startup. The rear axle has the optional overload springs that were normally installed on the F350, nd the bed is spray-lined.
I've upgraded the sound system with Polk speakers all around, nd a Kenwood touchscreen navigation with Garmin maps, ands-free Bluetooth, D radio, atellite radio, andora, .5mm aux input, Pod input, nd a CD/DVD player. I installed the front grill guard for added protection, nd to mount the 4 LED light pods. They're controlled by two switches inside the cab. I also upgraded the front hub locks to fully manual Warns and ditched the vacuum powered 4x4 hub system. Ford's 4wd offroad front axle locks are much better than what Chevy or Dodge offer - because you're able to unlock the hubs and reduce wear on the front end when cruising in 2wd.
The truck has a new custom interior. I just had the seats reupholstered by a professional automotive upholster -- not the cheap seat covers or skins that you can buy online -- these are the real deal with new padding, nd top quality cloth. Sitting inside, ou feel like you're driving a brand new truck right off the lot!
This is some of the mechanical work that I've done in the last year:
- New fan belt
- New glowplug relay
- New seals and bearings on the rear axle
- New front axle u-joints and seals
- New transmission pan
- New front brake pads and rotors
- And much more
- I've also replaced the old radiator cap with a new one from Motorcraft, nd I've installed a new (blue model) Cam Position Sensor. Both are often overlooked, ut important details to keep the 7.3 running properly.
The bad:
- The truck has a few dents, cratches and chips on the outside.
- The tires have life left, ut are getting low.
- The glowplugs will need to be addressed soon.
The ugly:
- None. It's a Ford Powerstroke. That leaves no room for ugly.
I have also listed this truck locally, o I reserve the right to remove this ad at any time if the truck should sell.
Thanks for looking!
