Since I bought this car in 1999, t has been parked inside the garage here at my building. I work at home, o I haven’t driven it much; that’s why the millage is so low. The car has never been in an accident. The backseats were hardly ever used and look brand new. It’s a stick-shift and quite a lot of fun to drive.
For a 17-year-old car, t is in very good condition, ith no rust of course here in Florida. However, he A/C does not work, nd I’m pretty sure it needs a fuel pump. I let it sit for too long without driving it, nd that’s not good for the pump. Of course, he price I am asking will reflect these problems.
There are some small scratches on the trunk, nd two small plastic parts on the trim are missing. They are the parts that you detach when changing a tire. They were held in place by plastic ties, nd I assume that they just fell off when I was driving.
One of the fog lights is out, nd Goodyear tells me that the front tires need to be replaced. They are not bald, ut they are so old that the rubber is disintegrating.
Also, here is some kind of a soot problem. There are little black particles that look like black snowflakes. While the interior looks fine, f you sit in the car with light-colored clothes, ou will get black spots on them. It washes off easy, o it doesn’t appear to be oily. I’ve seen this before, ecades ago, nd I believe it was caused by dust building up on the heating element during the summer, nd then being burned, nd blown out when first turning the heat on during the winter. I’m guessing that it’s not a serious problem, ut I am not a mechanic.
Without a fuel pump, he car doesn’t run of course. So, t will have to be towed. Also, he battery has run down, ut it isn’t very old, o I’m pretty sure that it will hold a charge.
I’m not going to buy another car. Instead, will use car-sharing thing like Car2Go or Uber.
If I can’t sell the car in this condition, will get the fuel pump replaced and re-list here.
