Let me say from the beginning, his rig is just flat out bitch'n, un and hard core 50's style. Part of a collection, his gem was restored by a gentleman with a lifetime of early Ford and Hot Rod roots...
OK Daddy-O, ere's the scoop! Always on the lookout for the next project, he owner/restorer found this in the Santa Ynez Valley of California, here it had been resting for more than 50 years. Tattered from time and missing a few components, e began to un-ravel part of it's unique history. It had been "rumored" by several un-related local parties to have been originally modified by George Barris and/or a Barris Custom but was never verified. Either way, it's 50's style, adical chop and several other related components made this Hot Rod a very special project spanning a few years while he gathered the needed items to complete the restoration and revive this work of art....
Resting on a thorough/complete professional body-off restoration and finished in high quality Bright Yellow basecoat/clearcoat. The radical 5" inch chopped/filled roof stands exactly as it was done back in the day. However as expected, he owner stripped all filler/lead, strengthened metal where needed and utilized modern welding technics to bring it up to today's quality standards. The rest of the body received the same level of attention. Other features include louvered hood, lush mount windshield, idden fuel door behind L taillamp, ody color grill shell, ommercial style headlamps and riding on Steelie wheels with big/little Excelsior Stahl Sport Radial rubber...
Resting under the hood is a nicely detailed Oldsmobile "Olds Rocket 88" 324ci V8 poked 30 over with typical period performance mods including Tri Power Stromberg 97's, luminum Weiand intake manifold, emote oil filter, tube headers and Magnaflow dual exhaust. Transferring the vintage horsepower is a cast iron Hydra-Matic transmission and Winters quick change rear differential. Except for a few changes, he restored chassis remains pretty much like it was done back in day with dropped front axle, riginal Buick drum front brakes, pilt front wish-bone w/traverse spring, as front shocks, djustable coil over rear and highly detailed components....
Moving inside, ou will find neatly tucked black naugahyde wrapped around 34' Ford bucket seats, aux rear seat, black loop carpet, custom body color dash w/old school pin-striping, inged Stewart Warner instrumentation, 5' Ford steering column/shifter and a Gas Pedal. Ok? Got It, addy O....
