Up for auction is a one-of-a-kind 1928 Ford Model A 2 door Sedan. It has a clean California title and is currently registered. The car was originally from Kentucky and has an assigned VIN number on the door jamb as shown. The VIN reads: KY13759. It is titled as a 1932 Ford. The car runs and drives great. It gets attention everywhere it goes, specially when you're cruising down the freeway in overdrive at 75 mph without a problem.
The body is a 1928 2-door Sedan with a 1933 GMC truck grille, 82-C Guide headlights and Model A tail lights. The engine is a 350 Chevy high nickel block (under 5,000 miles on rebuild), ith a 4 bolt main, igh pressure oil pump, eiand aluminum intake manifold with an Edelbrock 600 carburetor, delbrock high flow water pump, igh energy Competition Cam, ertronix ignition, peedway custom headers with removable Harley baffles and Offenhauser aluminum valve covers. The transmission is a fully rebuilt 700 R4 with Corvette servos (1,500 miles since rebuild), 800 RPM stall converter, 0 spline output shaft and overdrive lockout (won't drop out of overdrive unless you downshift or hit the brakes). It has a B&M ratchet shifter and also has a Heatsink 18 inch transmission cooler.
The car has a custom built frame which has been tapered towards the front so it doesn't look like a square box at the end. From the cowl of the car the frame is 3.75 x 2 square tubing that is gradually tapered to 2 x 2. From the cowl back the frame is all 2 x 3 square tubing. The rear end is a 10-bolt Chevy with 3.56 gears. The drive shaft was made by Oceanside Driveline. The front axle is a Speedway tube axle with a 4-inch drop. Suicide setup with Model A spring, rass bushings and So Cal Speed Shop shocks. The rear end is set up like a banjo style with a '40 Ford rear spring and So Cal Speed Shop shocks. Speedway hairpin radius arms front and rear, peedway dual feed master cylinder with all new brake lines, peedway 11-inch front brake kit with 1978-88 GM calipers and pads. The rear brakes are stock drum GM. The front wheels are Vintiques, 6 x 4.5 and the rear wheels are stock Chevy steel wheels, 6 x 5. The trim rings are 1948 Ford. The tires are Firestone Bias Ply Zig Zag 6.00 - 16 front and 7.50 - 16 rear.
The interior has a 4-point roll cage, gallon spun aluminum fuel tank, uperior 4-hole steering wheel with quick release. The gauges are Moon Classic Instruments. The speedometer does not work.
The car was built in 2011 and featured in Rebel Rodz Magazine's May 2012 edition. Included are many receipts from the build. The magazine and El Vinos plaque are not included in this sale.
To sum it up, t has a clean California title and is currently registered. The car has been enjoyed and taken to many shows. It can be driven on long trips without problems. It has a lot of very cool vintage parts on it, reat patina, ncluding very lightly etched flames on the cowl, tarts every time, reeway flyer and you won't find another one like it! It's the kind of car that doesn't break down every time you take it out. And when you stop for gas, lan on spending an extra 30 minutes for people to come up and ask you about it and take pictures.
