Description

This TRUE RUST FREE SURVIVOR is a one owner TIME CAPSULEin amazing original condition. This UNRESTORED CAR is 100% ABSOLUTELY RUST FREEwithout any rust anywhere on the car and no rust repair ever. There is not even one spot of surface rust on the car - anywhere, ot even in the cowl vents which is truly amazing after 50 years! Here's the story:

Dad purchased this carnew in 1966 from the local dealerin Seattle Washington (where it never snows). The car spent its entire life in the Seattle area. He drove itfor about 25 years then gave it to his daughter to drive. Apparently she didn't appreciate the privilege because when it neededmaintenanceshe figured since it was dad's car so he ought to pay for it. They had an argument, he got mad and huffed off leaving the car behind. As a result the car was left with the folks untouched(in theirheated garage) for another 25 years! Dad died recently, o did the daughter,so momGAVE the car to my friend Dale who was 83 at the time. Dale knew he was a short timer so he turned the car over to mein January. Unfortunately my friend Dalepassedaway in February. I love the car but I don't havedry storage for itso I am passing it onto someone that can take better car if it. I do not want to see it sit outside andget rusty!!

I had my mechanic drain and change all the fluids, eplace the belts, oses and filters, nstall a new gas tank, uel lines and service the brakes. At that point he found the carburetor was shot so he rebuilt the original and reinstalled it. Once done it fired right up. The paint was dull and interior dirty so I had it touched up buffed and cleaned. The carpet was old and stained so I had it replaced. The steering wheel was in poor condition so I replaced it with a new wood replacement wheel. The dash pad was warped so I had thatreplaced that too.

My mechanic was amazed at the condition of this car. He still rants and raves about the great condition this car is in. He tells methey ALL rust in the cowl vent area, owever this car is even rust free there, hich unheard of and testifies to the fact the car was always in a heated garage! Here's the facts as I understand them:

The last picture has been included so you can see how the car appeared when it was taken out of storage. It was dirty, usty but it is readily apparent the car was as described. Car is located in Arlington WA. 98223 near Seattle. The underside of the car is sound. The paint is in very good condition however, t is not perfect. There are no bubbles in itand no dents but there are a few insignificant blemishes. The floors, ockers and other metal are all without any rust holes. The engine has been rebuilt assumingly in the 1980's when dad still dove it. I had our mechanic check compression and he found 145 - 150 LBS varied between the cylinders. Inspection revealed the front end and other bushings are in good condition which means they must have been replaced when the engine was rebuilt and shortly before they stopped driving it. Everything else seems to work fine and the car drivesnicely. All the options work except thatobsolete radio. Please feel free to ask questions. Happy bidding on a great car!
