Description

This is a great looking/running truck. It was restored in the past, ut could use it again.

Mechanically this truck is sound. Previous owner put a real 1970 351 Cleveland 2V in this truck that originally came with a 6 cylinder. The 3 speed on the column was replaced with a truck 4 speed. There is a vibration in the drive train because when they did the switch they reused the flywheel from the 6 cylinder. It bolts up perfectly, ut the 6 cylinder flywheel is neutral balanced, he 351 Cleveland is not. It will need to be replaced with a flywheel from a 351 C, indsor or a 302. Brakes are good. Tires are brand new. It does not squeak, attle or wander as you drive down the road. The perfectly adjusted doors shut tight without slamming. The body lines are perfect. The truck was originally red and white, ow it is maroon and white. There is almost no rust. I pulled the rubber floor mat and pulled out the sound deadener and found surface rust for the most part. On the passenger floor board there are about 6 small rust holes. I used navel jelly to neutralize on both driver and passenger floorboards, nd then painted it. There is NO rust in the battery tray area, r in the door jams. On the driver’s side near the tail light there is an area where body work was done in the past. The filler is separating from the metal and will need to be redone. I looked in the space between the outer and inner bed and the damage was minimal. I looked at all such spaces around the truck and found no more damage.

Every light burns bright. Gauges and switches work right. Heater blows hot, nd the wind wings keep the air fresh. All the glass is perfect, o chips, racks or bulls eyes. The original head liner is surprisingly nice. The seat was recovered in the past and for the most part in good shape. The driver’s side unfortunately has seen better days. Dash pad had been removed, ut the bright red paint looks good. The door panels had been cut for speakers, hy do people do that?

I found the stock Ford rims and put them back on, ith new white walls. I really wanted to lower it… but I decided to let the new owner make that call. It would look cool.

This is an awesome truck. It’s fun to drive and with the right flywheel and a car 4 or 5 speed behind that hard to find 351 Cleveland it would be quite the little hot rod.
