Thank you for looking. Up for auction is my RARE 1973 Gran Torino Sport Fastback with Factory Q Code 351 Cobrajet 4v, 6 Auto, D Suspension, loor shift, igh back bucket seats, onsole and tachometer gauge pack & 3.25 rear end. All from the factory (I have both the Marti Report AND Ford 99 Report)!!!

It was built in Atlanta, A on 6/12/1973, pecial order #7739 (see scan of Ford Report). The prior owner told me he got it in Georgia as well. This was a factory air car but the AC is not on the car. I have most of the parts but they need a rebuild if, ou choose to do so. The car also has intermittent wipers and Rear defrost (SUPER RARE glass on a fastback car).

I am selling this car only because I have started a business. My loss (big) could be your gain (HUGE).

This was a 2 year only model, ade famous by the movie ‘Gran Torino’ with Clint Eastwood! These particular models have risen significantly since the movie. This car has been a labor of love for me over the last several years, ith countless hours restoring it. If you are interested in a SUPER rare and cool muscle car, ead on…

This Gran Torino Sport Fastback has many rare and desirable options, nd to top it off, t’s factory color is special order #7739 in Black (hard to find) on Black. If you want to see it, would encourage you to call me and set up an appointment. The car must be trailered or shipped as the new interior is not installed and the sticker is not current.

Please do not ask to buy the NOS or other parts separate, want them to go with the car so she can get finished- she’s rare and really deserves to be done up right.

This car is ALMOST THERE. Below is a detailed description - what needs to be done is not much:

· -Paint & minor body work. Front fenders look great. Rear quarters look good overall but may need a little work. There are some goosebumps on the passenger wheel well. The wheel houses do need minor patching but look pretty solid overall. I did not paint over them as the car has been stored at my house and was not worried about deterioration.

· -Doors are decent but may need a little brazing on the bottom seams. Driver’s door pin (hinge pin) should be replaced (have new ones that will go with car). There is a small dent (soft, ot sharp) on the driver’s front lower fender, o rust. Thank my son for that. A few small dings. There was no way I would short-cut the body just to get more money out of her, o I am selling it as it sits. I had a piece of the rear passenger floor professionally welded in to replace it, nd I used an original, lean southern 1973 Ford Torino floor piece to do this (see pics).

· - Interior install. Have pretty much everything, ither new or restored and it will go with the car. No point in installing it before paintwork. See pictures and see below for details, ots of $$$ spent.

I did some really nice (yeah, hat means EXPENSIVE) upgrades & restoration to the car. This was going to be my dream resto-mod, o I didn’t do it cheaply because I wanted everything to last. The great news is if you want it factory, u>I saved everything I took off the car, nd it will go with the car. I even have a set of factory Ford 14” steel wheels, new in boxes) that will go with the car. The engine had a minor rebuild by the previous owner, nd runs solid. The Transmission, uspension, rakes and rear end seals have been professionally R&R’d or rebuilt. All fluids have been changed as well, ut it could use an oil change and probably new plugs as it has been started, dled up to temp, oved, nd parked periodically to keep everything in working order. The details:

· Car has been dropped roughly 2.5” in the rear and 1.5” in the front. This was done using the Torino handling bible. I chose Eaton 1300 pound springs for the rear and Crown Victoria Police Interceptor shocks and springs for the front, ll new. The car turns in crisp, ut not kidney destroying on the bumps- with none of the wallow associated with early 70’s muscle cars in the turns. I have the original Heavy-Duty (HD) suspension saved in boxes, oo;

· New Energy Suspension Poly bushings throughout the suspension and rear sway bar for responsiveness;

· (5) New American Racing 17” Rims and Nitto Extreme NT450 Tires all around Front: 255/50/17 and 275/50/17 in rear. I also have a 5th brand-new matching wheel and tire. It was sized so you can use the spare in the front or rear as the diameter is identical. Took me 2 years of research to get backspacing & tire size PERFECT. Wheels and tires fit perfectly in the wells - with NO rub. My cost on this was almost $1,800 and my wife almost killed me about the whole process (kidding). You can still see the blue in the tread (see pics), here are less than 200 miles since new as it was hardly driven;

· Factory C-6 transmission was completely rebuilt with Kevlar bands for strength and response. Cost me about $1,100;

· Custom, rue dual exhaust with chrome tips and x-pipe mounted under transmission for easy transmission servicing at a cost of $1,100. The car also has headers.

· Brand-new and installed: 5-core aluminum radiator ($250), EW Holly Carb $225 (electric choke, ith all manuals & CD & box), 00-amp alternator (bright headlights!), uick ratio steering box, elts, oses, eater core, rake lines, EW front wheel bearings rotors & rebuilt and painted front calipers, Pertronix” electronic ignition (saved parts replaced) & matching coil. BRAND NEW factory fuel tank ($475, ry finding one) installed and fuel lines were blown out. New solenoid. Recent battery cables and correct battery hold down. Battery is weak and will need replacement. I will provide and install a new battery prior to pick up-if the car meets reserve. Chin spoiler. Have NOS bumper apron that will go with car.

· Rebuilt/restored mechanical: Master cylinder, ower booster for brakes, ront calipers & rotors, ear end seals and all fluids replaced, b>Accel performance spark plug wires.

· Replaced power steering pump with nice OEM pump (stripped & repainted correct color, ower steering fluid drained and replaced), iper motor.

· Restored interior: Restored dashboard. Professionally re-padded and replaced all seats at a cost of roughly $1,000. Restored factory console (very hard to find!) with all mounting brackets. Seatbelts disassembled, ashed, ried and appropriately lubed- then stored. They look awesome. Dashboard cleaned and properly painted with SEM, ebuilt clock with quartz movement, ED bulbs installed in gauge pack, teering wheel restored, ew headlight switch. Door panels need to be R&R (not a big deal, ee pictures). All other interior plastic had been cleaned, roperly prepped with SEM, nd re-shot with SEM interior and stored. All metal headliner trim cleaned, repped and repainted.

  • · Undercarriage was stripped down to bare metal,

    POR-15 applied with a black topcoat afterwards, s were the front inner wheel wells. Bumpers pulled off and R&R’d inner mounts and epoxy coated them prior to installation (for longevity);

  • · New Interior parts: Full carpet (still in box), oise cancelling insulation (unopened), eadliner (in box), ew fan motor;
  • · Engine bay partially restored. Looks decent as-is but it could be easily upgraded to “awesome”. Wiring harnesses in engine bay re-wrapped. New horns, ew EGR valve.

· Factory options include and are present with the car (unless noted):

351 4v “Cobrajet” engine (RARE!!!!!) – rebuilt by prior owner, uns solid, wrecked one of the ignition wires and put a non-matching one so it should be replaced;

The Original Cobrajet chrome air cleaner- try finding one- SUPER, UPER RARE. Looks okay for a 40 year-old car, ut you could easily re-chrome cover. Air cleaner box stripped down to bare metal, rimed & painted;

C6 Automatic Transmission- Professionally rebuilt with Kevlar bands, orks GREAT, hifts crisp;

Floor shift and console (Rare) – console is restored and ready for install, eeds repro pad (easy to get);

Full gauge pack (Rare)

Tinted Glass

Factory Air Conditioning (The originals are not with the car, sourced replacements but they need to be rebuilt).

Installed RARE factory rear defrost glass & indicator lamp, ully functioning. SUPER RARE on a fastback!!!

Total: $5,950 This is just major components. Have tons of other stuff installed.

I am into it for WAYYYYY more than this, ven excluding the cost of the actual car itself. And the labor. I have inches of receipts, ol- and TONS of personal time into this. If the car meets the LOW reserve price, will throw in (2) BRAND NEW NOS Bumpers, ront and rear- still new and sitting in boxes. These are driver grade, ice and shiny (with a couple of minor blems). If you can find these, our cost would be about $1,500. My loss = your gain. You should easily be able to part out the car for more than the reserve, ut please don’t do that.

· - Car has clean title

- · - I have a full set of VERY NICE, riginal tinted glass (door glass and rear quarter glass, oth sides) for the car that I will sell to the new owner for $500 and carefully pack in the car when it ships, f you so opt. New un-tinted windows will run you about $1,300 so I think it’s a fair price.

· -Additionally, also have a powder-coated pair of hood hinges, till in the wrapper that I will part with for $75 (cost me almost double).

· -Bonus new/NOS/repro parts included: NOS Bumper apron, pare window felts, ew package tray, nterior screw kit, OS heat riser duct, epro floor shift knob, pare electrical parts

· -Will check for other NOS pieces. If available, ill sell to buyer for a fraction of their value. Otherwise, hese optional parts will be listed on ebay. Contact me at the end of the auction to arrange payment, f you want them. Any parts that cannot fit in the car will be shipped to your door for just the cost of shipping and insurance, f we need to do that. If you are local, ou can opt to pick them up.

One last note, nd this will tell you how rare this car really is:

Of the Torinos made for 1973:

· Only a total of 51,853 were fastbacks out of a total production of 496,581 units in 1973. This means that only about 10% were fastbacks or “sportroofs”.

Also, f I remember correctly:

· Only 9% were 351 4V equipped cars, nd of those

· Only 8% were black (special order color only).

· Further, nly about ½ were C6 Automatic transmissions.

· Even less had full gauge packs, nd

· Still even fewer had factory buckets & consoles and HD suspension. You do the math-- this is an extremely rare and desirable car that just begs to be finished.
