Affordable, op-down fun, his 1963 Ford Falcon is the daily-driver hobby car. It has a great vintage look, he thrifty six-cylinder engine is easy on the gas, nd nobody else will even guess just how affordable it really is.
This is not a perfect car, ut it does have a lot of charm. You might remember Brad Pitt driving a similar car at the end of "Ocean's Eleven" although this one is a lot nicer in every way. It's clean and honest, ith an endearing personality that makes these a great place to start when you begin collecting. So if you're a guy ready to do some shows and have some fun with a cool car that doesn't need fussing, his is it. The Viking Blue paint presents extremely well, nd that's the original color so it works well without looking dated. The bodywork underneath is in good order, ith doors that fit well and close without a major slam, nd the Mustang's little brother does look rather dashing with that hood scoop and cool fender-top ornaments. Mini Galaxie taillights continue the Ford look and the Futura model represented the top-of-the-line in 1963, o there's a bit of extra trim to make it sparkle. The grille is in excellent shape, he bumpers shine up nicely, nd the white body side moldings show off good panel alignment. Someone spent quite a bit of money making this car look this good.
The blue interior was also completely restored and remains in very good condition overall, gain perfect for just jumping in with some friends and heading out on the road. The vinyl bench buckets are a nice find in a Falcon, ffering pleated details and correct materials, o it has a '60s sensibility without looking beat up and the blue carpets are the correct texture and pile so they look right. The instrument panel and steering wheel are in great shape for being more than 50 years old now and the console between the seats is a rather rare find. The factory AM radio is still in the dash, nd like most Falcons, hat's about it for options. The door panels are beautifully rendered, specially for a car in this price class, nd the trunk is nicely outfitted with a reproduction plaid mat and a full-sized spare tire with cover. There's also a white power convertible top that fits rather well and has a clear plastic rear window.
The 170 cubic inch inline-six is a good choice in the lightweight Falcon, ith peppy road manners around town and good fuel economy. It's been brightened up with a fresh coat of Ford Blue paint and an original air cleaner painted to match, nd it really stands out in the otherwise all-black engine bay. It's pretty clean in there, uggesting a car that's been well-maintained, nd with the 2-speed automatic transmission, t's a willing powerplant that goes about its business without a lot of fussing. The underside is likewise in good order and mostly original, ith a single exhaust system for a period-correct six-cylinder grumble. 175/80/13 whitewall radials are affordable and ride well and are fitted with wire wheel covers that give the little car an upscale vibe.
