Description

You are looking at an exceptional, ery special car. It is listed in the official K Code Registry. Here is my story. In the fall of 1964, was 18 years old and I purchased my first new car from Gene Hamon Ford Dealership in Texas City, exas. I special ordered the 289 High Performance model with 4 speed transmission. I became the proud owner of the only K code, ipo Mustang in Galveston County. There are so many memories wrapped up in my car, t is one of the hardest decisions I have ever made to now offer it for sale. I was 18 years old when I bought it and now I am close to my 70th birthday.
If you know Mustang history, nd I hope you do, ou will appreciate the special place an original K Code car holds in the 50 year history of Mustangs. Of all the Million plus Mustangs produced during the first generation 1965-67, ess than 1% were the high performance model. It came with the Special 289/271 horse, barrel carb, olid lifter engine. This the the engine Carroll Shelby used in creating the first racing Shelby Mustangs and the Cobras. When I ordered it, n addition to the High Performance engine, n 1965 it only came with a 4 speed transmission, he famous 9 inch Ford rear end, ine has the 3.89:1 gear ratio. You could not get AC, ower steering, indows, rakes. It only came with a radio and heater. That was all I needed.
This car has no rust whatsoever. I went through a long slow process of restoration which was completed in 2009. Since that time, t has been driven approximately 1200 miles, o road trips, ust to local Mustang Club events and local car shows. I have won my class numerous times but because of health issues, have slowed down and have not shown it this year at all.
The car is painted in its original color, hich is also a very rare Phoenician Yellow, nbsp;I installed Tri-Y headers, nbsp;a Hurst 4 speed shifter and added the new rims within the last 2 years, ther than that, he is stock in all respects even down to the mechanical choke on the 4100 autolite 1:12 four barrel carb.
I know what my car is, know what it's value is in the collector car market. You can look for a long time and will not find a K code with this history. I only know of 2 other original 65 Mustang owners and neither one has a K code. So look at my pictures, hey represent a true depiction. .

In answer to a question, do not have any original paperwork. That was not so important to me 50 years ago and so it is non existent, can however supply names of witnesses who know me and the car, ncluding the elderly gentleman who was the parts department manager at Gene Hamon Ford in Texas City. I also have a couple of pictures of my car taken in 1965 with my girlfriend and my Mom (who is now 99 years old) standing by the car. I will provide copies of these to the buyer.
