Description

2000 Ford Excursion: It is finally time to sell my baby. Whoever gets this custom Ford Excursion is one lucky person. Since my ownership I have kept this vehicle in tip top condition. I have also done several modifications in order to improve the performance, power, and efficiency. This vehicle has not been abused and I have never taken this vehicle off road. The 4WD does work great. If you know they don't make vehicles like this any more. Diesel SUV's have become a thing of the past due to stupid EPA regulations. Also as all of you know this is the best SUV platform Ford ever made with the 7.3 Powerstroke engine. As most people know the 6.0 Powerstroke diesel sucks and had over 300 recalls. The 99-02 7.3 Powerstroke has been the best diesel engine Ford has ever put in a truck by far
Tires: All four tires have been replaced in the last 1000 miles with all terrain tires. The cost of all four tires installed and balanced was $900.. Additionally all of the shortcomings of this vehicle have been addressed and upgraded. Here is a list of some of the things that have been done to maintain and upgrade the vehicle.
Brakes: The entire brake system has been updated. All four brake rotors were replaced with high performance drilled and vented rotors for stronger and cooler braking. There rotors are far superior to the factory rotors. The total cost of the rotors was $500. Additionally; all four brake calipers were replaced and brand new ceramic (the best you can buy) brake pads were installed. All brake lines were professionally flushed and filled with new synthetic fluid. Total cost of the brake system was $1200. This work was done by Jon’s brake and muffles in Rowlett. They are awesome.
Rear axle: The rear differential cover was replaced with a new differential cover due to corrosion. Cost $30. While the differential cover was being replaced the axle fluid was flushed and filled with new synthetic Mobil One rear differential fluid and the proper limited slip additive was added. Cost: $175
Front axle: The Dana front axle is in like new condition. It is hardly ever used. The axle was inspected and had new synthetic fluid installed and sealed. Cost $100
Transmission: The transmission is the best transmission that one could put in this vehicle. If you know anything about these Ford vehicles the transmission is the weak link. I had the transmission rebuilt by the best in the country. The transmission was rebuilt by Brian’s Transmission Shop. Brian knows all of the shortcomings of the 4r100 tranny and every weak link is fixed. These transmissions are tuff!!! When I had the transmission rebuilt I also had his triple disc torque converter added. All fluids were replaced along with the filter. Also I added an inline Magnefine filter added for insurance. The total cost of the transmission, fluid and filters was $5000. Do not buy a Ford without this transmission. You will regret it!!! Here is a link for information on the transmission:

Shocks: All four shocks were replaced with Monroe Reflex shocks. These shocks are the best and the vehicle rides smooth. Cost: $250
Front End: The front end on this vehicle was a beating. Man was it expensive. I took it into the shop and they said the entire front end needed to be redone so I did. All four ball joints were replaced. The sway bar arms were replaced along with new bushings. All tie rods were replaced. All steering linkages were replaced. The steering damper was replaced. The power steering pump was replaced and the fluid flushed and replaced with synthetic fluid. Also a computerized alignment was done to put the front end straight. Cost of all this was a crazy $2800!!!
Turbocharger: The turbocharger was removed and completely professionally rebuilt by Ron’s Turbo Shop. He is the best!!! He installed a wicked wheel which eliminates to dreaded turbo surge that these vehicles suffer from. Then the turbo was balanced and blueprinted. Finally all new seals bearings and gaskets were installed. Along with the turbo was added a high performance waste gate from dieselsite.com. These are the best because they keep the turbo from blowing off pressure early and are fully adjustable. On the exit side of the turbo a non ebpv outlet was added to get rid of that power robbing valve and a new non ebpv pedestal was installed with all new gaskets. I also bought and had installed no crush intake plenum jackets to help strengthen the manifold. This is a weakness on this engine and the problem has been eliminated. Also all turbo boots and clamps were replaced with high performance clamps and boots. This keeps boots from blowing off!!!
This entire turbo upgrade cost me a total of $1925 including parts and labor.
Water pump and cooling system: $875 Parts and Labor
The entire cooling system has been upgraded. The coolant system was professionally flushed before original water pump removal. Then the water pump, radiator hoses, clamps, thermostat housing, t stat, coolant, coolant additives, were replaced. Also; a billet coolant filter system was added. The t stat housing was upgraded from that crappy stamped steel unit from Ford to a billet housing. The more efficient 203* t stat was installed and the reservoir was replaced due to cracking. Also a new pressure cap was installed. Here are links to some of the parts that were used.

4 Wheel Drive system: Cost $400
As anyone who drives Ford 4 wheel drive vehicles knows there auto locking hubs suck. So I had a local mechanic fix all of the issues. First off new Warm Premium Locking Hubs were installed. Then all of those pesky leaky vacuum hoses were capped and sealed.
Transfer case: I had the entire transfer case fluid drained and replaced with a high performance synthetic fluid. Total cost $100.
Windows: The windows were tinted professionally and look great they are cool in the summer. The cost of the tinting job was $200.
Side mirrors: For excursions come from the factory with what are called paddle side mirrors. These mirrors are not good due to the size of the vehicle. So I had them replaced with Ford factory side mirrors that come standard on the F series trucks. These mirrors are a big improvement on the factory excursion mirrors. They are not power mirrors because the costs of those were crazy, but once you have them adjusted you are good. Cost of the mirrors was $300.
Wind Deflectors: I had a set of wind deflectors installed on the Excursion to help with wind noise. And if you want to run with the windows down they help out a great deal. Cost was $60
Rear View Mirror: The rear view mirror broke so it was replaced with a new mirror. Cost $30
Interior:
Door Panels: When I got the vehicle the two front door panels were worn a little so I replaced them both with Ford factory door panels. Cost was $450
Front driver seat: All of the seats in the vehicle are great. As we all know the only seat that takes a beating is the front driver’s seat. I took the seat into Route 66 interiors and had them completely rebuild the front driver’s seat. All springs and cushioning was replaced and the seat is now great. The leather was fine so it was reused the existing leather. It is not perfect but good enough. The entire leather interior is good. I would give it an eight out of ten. No major issues. Cost of the seat rebuild was $200.
Floor Mats: When I bought the vehicle I replaced all of the worn out floor mats. They were replaced with match mats not some cheap generic mats. Also the rear cargo mat was replaced with a weather tech mat so that it could handle anything. And it does a great job. Cost of replacing all of the mats was $200.
Steering wheel: As with all vehicles with a little bit of age the steering wheel was starting to get a little worn so I put a Ford racing premium leather steering wheel cover on it and it looks great: Cost was $30
Front End: I had the front headlights replaced with the newer style headlights off of an 2007 model year super duty. Also they required an upgraded light harness to work. Then I had to take these to a body shop and they had to pull the front support and modify them to fit. Once they were done they look so much better than the originals and you can see so much better with them. They were a much needed upgrade. Cost of this with parts and labor was $600.

Grill Guard: A chrome grill guard was added for looks and protection in case of a front end collision. If you have ever seen a wreck with one of these the grill guard wins. I hope it never gets used however. Cost of the grill guard and install was $350. Plus the chrome looks better than the typical black ones that you usually see.
Front Grill: The original grill was changed out to a billet grill to give the vehicle an updated look. It looks great with the lights and the grill guard. Cost $100.
Exhaust: I had the restrictive factory muffler replaced by a MBRP muffler delete pipe and welded on by Jon’s Brake and muffler in Rowlett. They also added a chrome exhaust tip. The exhaust sounds awesome. But it is not to loud like those crazy loud diesels that you hear out there. After much research this is the best exhaust for this vehicle to factory downpipe and exhaust to the perfect size for proper spool up of the turbo and getting those gases out. Now after the ebpv delete and muffler delete there is no restriction what so ever. This is the perfect combination for performance, sound and egt’s. Cost of the delete pipe welding and the tip was $150.

Intake: As all of you know the factory Ford intake sucks. After hours of research I found the best intake system for this truck. All of the aftermarket systems have their flaws as well. Ford knew this and that is why they contracted with Donaldson to make the ultimate air intake system. This is the best system on the market and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. So I used it. If you do not believe me then do your research. This filter intake system is awesome. Almost no restriction and the best filtration in the market. Plus the filter lasts over 100,000 miles!!! No cleaning and oiling!!! Also for better performance I added an additional inlet called the fender sleeve mod, and I also did the ZOODAD mod to help out with airflow. Also the never used Ford AIH was deleted for optimum intake flow!!! Intake cost was $375 after install.

Gauges: I had AutoMeter C2 Gauges installed on the drivers pillar in order to keep track of trans temp, boost, and fuel pressure. These gauges on the best and not some cheap Chinese crap. These gauges cost $500 to install.
Batteries: Batteries are a big issue with these trucks. Regular batteries take a beating with all of the electrical components and the glow plugs. The batteries I installed were the best. The optima yellow tops. These batteries work great and they last twice as long as regular batteries. The cost of both batteries was $500!!!
Fuel system: The entire fuel system has been upgraded. The fuel tank draw straw was upgraded to allow for better flow. If you ever look at a factory draw straw in these tanks you will just shake your head in amazement of how stupid of a design that was. So it was upgraded with a stainless draw straw. New fuel tank filler lines were installed along with an upgraded fill port that makes it harder to thieves to steal fuel. Also this upgrade makes it easier to fill your truck as the factory fill system makes it a twenty minute ordeal to top off. Now it takes five minutes. This tank is big at around 45 gallons. Then all fuel lines were replaced with the best Vinton fuel line on the market. The fuel pump was working fine but a put a new ford pump on for good measure because I did not want there to be any future issues. I have the old one as well. Before the fuel pump I added a pre pump fuel filter water separator to keep the pump from being taxed and it works great. After the pump the fuel bowl was totally removed and rebuilt with new Vinton seals and was modified to get rid of any restrictions. A new billet high performance FRP was installed with a new high performance spring. Also; new Ford fuel lines from the fuel filter housing were installed with new fittings and a new primary fuel filter was installed. A new set of fuel injectors were installed because the old ones were worn. These babies’ were expensive. But now they are good for another 200 to 300 thousand miles!!! While they were in the heads all glows plugs were replaced with Ford glow plugs and two new under cover valve harnesses were installed with new gaskets. This was a big job!!! Total cost of the fuel system and under the head job was $3800!!!

Oil Drain valve: A fumoto drain valve and gasket was installed to make oil changes a breeze. These things are awesome!!! Cost $30
Intercooler Boots: All of the intercooler boots were replaced along with new clamps for a tighter seal: Cost was $150
Performance Chip: When I got the injectors done the shop in McKinney powerflo diesel added a mild performance chip to give the vehicle better power and greater fuel economy. After the fuel system, injectors and chip were installed the excursion now gets 16-19 in the city and 25-30 mpg on the highway. It is incredible what this programmer has done along with all of the upgrades!!! Cost of the chip was $300.
CPS and IPR: The Camshaft position sensor and the HPOP IPR sensor were replaced by Powerflo diesel as well because they were worn and leaking. Cost was $350

Drive Belt: The drive belt was replaced with a premium 200,000 mile belt. Cost $60
Alternator: The alternator was replaced with a (New) not rebuild alternator. Cost was $200
Oil Pour Cap: The original oil fill cap was worn and is made of plastic so I upgraded it to a billet fill cap that looks awesome and will not rot. These caps are subject to high heat and I do not know why Ford used plastic but this problem has been fixed!!! Cost was $30.
A/C Mod: These Excursions are large vehicles and the stock air conditioning is just ok. I had what was called the a/c mod done which is a series of two valves that shut off the hot 200 degree coolant flow to the heater core during the warm months to better cool the a/c. WOW; this mod made the air conditioner much colder and I cannot keep it on high even in the hot Texas summer months. This mod is awesome!!! Cost was $50
Trailer Brake: A trailer brake was added for use during towing. I have NEVER towed with this vehicle but it is there just in case. Cost was $100
Other: I am sure that I am missing some things but that is all that I can think of. All other maintaince has been kept up with and all fluids and filter have been serviced. All of this work has been done within the last 10,000 miles. This excursion is pretty much ready to go anywhere. I would not hesitate to take it to Alaska or anywhere else for that matter. This vehicle is the ultimate vehicle. Ford had to stop making these vehicle because they were too expensive and they are the best big luxury vehicle out there.
The Bad: I can’t say much but here is what I know. Two of the door lock actuators need to be replaced. I have not got around to it. Also the fuel level sensor needs to be replaced. I just have not ever got around to it because this tank is huge and I just refill it every two to four weeks.
Condition:
Exterior: The exterior I would rate an 8 out of 10. The paint is good and there are really no major issues. There is a small ding on the bottom of the front bumper, but that is about it. It is a beautiful vehicle. The inside I would give an eight out of ten. There are a few spots and stains here and there but nothing to write home about. There are also some small drill holes on the dash that were there when I bought the vehicle but they don’t bother me. All together this is a beautiful luxury SUV!!! The vehicle runs and drives like a dream and there are no issues that I know of in the drive train. All issues that I have found have been dealt with and usually upgraded. This vehicle has been my baby but I just don’t drive it enough to keep it in the family. This will make its new owner very happy. As per the description I have invested over $22,400 in this vehicle in just parts and labor alone. That is not including the $14,000 I paid for this vehicle when I bought it. So total I have around $36,400 in this vehicle. I know that I will not get all of that back but this is one of the best excursions in the country so know that. It is not perfect but it is close!!! I am going to start the auction at $1 and I am going to let the market decide the value of this vehicle. You will not see another Excursion like this probably ever again so bid while you have the chance. Please do not waste my time!!! If you bid you need to have the funds to pay for this vehicle. I have been burned before on Ebay so do not waste my time or yours. Please check my feedback. I am an honest regular user and seller on Ebay. If you would like to come out and inspect the vehicle yourself please contact me and we will set up a time for you to come and inspect the vehicle. Also for some stupid reason EBAY will only let me place 24 pictures on EBAY. I have a lot more pictures so if you would like more or some shots of something particular just let me know and I can send them to you. All of the information in this add is to the best of my knowledge and this vehicle is awesome. If you win this auction you will love this vehicle for many years to come. This vehicle is better and more efficient than when it came off of the showroom floor as there have been several thousands of dollars in upgrades made. This thing gets looks everywhere it goes. This auction is a no reserve auction and the highest bidder will win this Excursion. I do not believe in playing games with reserves. The winner needs to have made payment and picked up the vehicle within one week of the auction closing. If you are going to ship the vehicle to your residence you need to handle the shipping arrangements.
Please contact me via Ebay if you have any questions. Thanks and good luck Bidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
