Description

Ford introduced the Explorer option package for the Bronco in 1973. The Explorer package included unique exterior colors and special unique interior treatments. automatic transmission. and power steering. The color and interior pattern scream mid 70's style. This 1973 Ford Bronco Explorer is in good original unrestored condition. It is next to impossible to find a Burnt Orange Explorer package that is mostly original and unrestored. It has never been cut of lifted. The truck has been a one-owner truck for most of it's life at a lake house in Idaho. The exterior shows mostly all original paint. It has assorted a few bumps. bruises. and scars that only add character to the vehicle. The truck has great patina throughout. The paint is certainly not perfect. but original paint from 1973 is never going to be perfect. I personally like the vehicles unrestored and preserved. If you are looking for a vintage Bronco to restore. this is a perfect candidate. It doesn't need much of anything. To some of us this one looks better than the newly restored shiny example. and this one is certainly more difficult to duplicate. There is a hole in the left rear fender where a CB antennae was once mounted. I have the antennae should you care to reinstall it. Has four new all terrain tires. Glass is all good. Interior is in very nice original unrestored condition. Couple of small tears in the driver seat vinyl that is not conspicuous. Original orange explore fabric still shows very vibrant color. Original floor liner still in place. The rear cargo area sheet metal has been repainted. Gauges. wipers. lights. radio. latches. window winders. seat belts all functional. Mechanically in good condition. Starts. runs. stops. and steers as it should. Engine looks as it should with nice original finish and factory labels. decals. and ink stamps. most of the engine compartment components are factory original. Battery is new. Has the usual oil leaks but does not smoke or burn oil or make any unusual noises. Four wheel drive engages perfectly and pulls strong. Factory automatic transmission shifts as it should. The brake system is new with an added vacuum power booster. Like most of the original drum brake broncos this requires significant pedal pressure to stop. Chassis is in good condition without signs damage or significant rust. Rubber parts show their age but function fine. New main tank fuel sender. new fuel. and new fuel pump. Optional auxiliary fuel tank and the associated switches and fuel gauge all work. My name is Edward. Feel free to contact me at 251 769 4742 or edsdrivein@att. net
