For your consideration is a well kept, unique and classic 1988 Ford F150 truck for sale. This body style truck is becoming increasingly hard to come across with low miles and without loads of rust.
The exterior paint on this car is a unique deep garnet red and brown two-tone. In my opinion, It looks really cool and very much embodies the late 80's early 90's era of truck that this is. Additionally, the paint on this truck still shines quite nice, it really does look as it does in the pictures and the video. The body of the truck is not perfect though - as to be expected from a vehicle nearly 30 years old.
Some areas have been touched up by a previous owner, I have done my best to document these areas in the images as well as the video. Also, this truck has some of the usual suspects in terms of rust for these Ford trucks. The rear passenger side wheel well has some surface rust that is starting to come in, a previous owner covered it up with some tan paint to prevent it from spreading. Also, on the same side there is a roughly 3 inch hole from rust near the rear bumper. Fortunately, the rust does not go all the way through, there is another layer of metal intact. Finally, the bottoms of the doors have some slight surface rust which is just starting to bubble and come in, this too was touched up by a previous owner to prevent the issue from becoming serious. The hood of the car has a small spot of clear coat that has come off, this too is detailed in the video description.
All in all though, the truck as a whole is solid and looks really nice. You only notice the cosmetic imperfections I mentioned if you are looking for them. It's a solid F150, and one that garnishes attention and brings compliments most everywhere I go.
The camper top seen in the pictures is included with the truck; it is a fiberglass Leer. It is tan with a burgundy pinstripe that matches the truck perfectly. Also, there is a bed liner installed so the bed is in really nice condition.
The interior of the car is in fantastic condition. The headliner does not sag and looks great. Also, the seats are in very nice condition. There are no tears or stains anywhere in the interior.
The truck starts right up, drives straight, and the engine runs strong. This is no surprise because 94k miles on this V8 truck is really quite low. The only issue mechanically is that one of the gas tanks on the truck currently is not operable. I am not sure what the issue is, I bought the truck like this and never bothered to have it looked at. The truck has two gas tanks, so I just used the one that works fine. Just be sure to have at least an eighth of a tank of gas in at all times. Since one of the tanks does not work properly, the gas gauge is not 100% accurate and the gauge fluctuates a little. I've had the truck run out of gas a few times even though the gauge showed a little less than an eighth of gas remained. Since keeping at least 1/8th of a tank of gas in her, I have not had any issues. The AC compressor blows air just fine, however the air is not cold. Most likely, it just needs an AC recharge. Also, the stereo has been upgraded to a Pioneer. It's a newer head unit with an AUX jack as well as a USB port so you can charge your phone right from the stereo which is really cool.
All in all, this is a really nice, classic Ford Truck. These are very hard to come across these days with low miles and without being completely beat up from years of heavy truck use. I really enjoyed this truck, they just don't make them like they used to anymore. But I just don't use this truck to do truck stuff enough, so it's time to let her go to someone who will enjoy it and put her to good use.
