1968 FORD FAIRLANE 2 DR COUPE
The VIN says this car came with a 289 2V but it has the correct 1968 cast iron 4 bbl intake manifold and Ford 4 barrel carb. The transmission is a C-4. Both work fine, the engine sounds good and has plenty of power. Someone wanted to install a 4 speed at one time and so there is an amateur hole cut in the transmission tunnel and patched. Has power steering and manual drum brakes. Brakes work fine.
The tires are fine.
The body I would say is excellent for it's age and unrestored condition. Some small cancer holes in both front floor pans but that's about it. Quarter panels, rocker panels, torque boxes, lower fenders, all excellent. The hood has been replaced (I don't know why) and the sun has baked off a lot of the original paint. The gas tank looks like it's been replaced. It is clean inside.
The seats were recovered years ago and aren't too bad- I think one small tear in a seam. Some electrical work needed on headlights, turn signals and heater fan. I think maybe the fuse box has some corrosion. The drivers door panel is missing, armrest intact.
An excellent start for a street rod or daily driver. You won't find a much better unrestored body anywhere.
Buyer is responsible to pick up car within 2 weeks or arrange shipping. A $200 PayPal deposit due at auctions end, the balance due in cash upon pickup.
