Description |
---|
This is an awesome truck that we have crossing the country in several times without issue. The crew cab is remarkably spacious and easily fits our family of four on long road trips. Truck has a 4 inch lift kit that makes it look pretty sexy and also does really well for clearing those high spots on tough mountain jeep trails. We have given it regular oil changes and I drive fairly mellow with my kids car seats in the truck most of the time etc.. We bought a new $45K truck last month, and since I don't really want to pay two truck payments we are selling this one. This one still looks sharp but the minor dents behind the rear wheel wells annoy my wife and she said either fix the body work or get a new truck, so we went down to the dealer and got suckered into a $600 per month truck payment. As you can tell from my tone here, I'm kind of more practical and I would have been happy to keep this truck rather than getting a new loan, but I have to keep my wife and kids happy too, so we are selling my trusted work partner.
Condition Details-
I'll list first the two most serious things and then a list of the less important.
1. In the summer the truck starts and runs excellent but at high altitude in Colorado winters it needs to be plugged in for the diesel to start easy. (We live high up in the Rocky Mountains and regularly drive the truck up between 8000 ft and 12,000 ft altitude where many diesel engines bog down from lack of oxygen. I had this looked into by our region diesel experts and the diagnosis is that #2 and #4 injectors are a bit gummed up and not firing 100%. So recommend at least doing those injectors or if you want to really do it right do a full injector job. The injector rebuild kits for the 7.3 liter diesels are available on Rbay for about $220 if you want to pull them and re-do the full set yourself. Otherwise the injectors themselves sell for a few hundred each on Ebay or elsewhere. I had delayed doing this because its pretty easy for me to plug it in during the winter and once it is warmed up it does fine.
2. the four wheel drive plastic hub cover is busted from hitting a rock, as you can see in the close up wheel photo. This wheel hub needs to be replaced before the truck with work in four wheel drive. It does have dash board 4WD/2WD switch but the hub lock works as an override and currently it is over-riding the dash board switch.
Other little things - The tail gate latch is busted. You have to grab the wire inside with pliers to open the tailgate until this is fixed. The passenger side key hole is stripped out so you have to unlock it from the drivers side and then reach over and manually unlock it before opening the passenger door. Again, nothing serious but a bit of an annoyance you might want to get fixed sometime. The cruise control works about 70% of the time and the other 30% you have to wait until you stop the truck and turn it off and then re-start it before the cruise control starts working again. As listed in the above condition description there is a small crack in the windshield, see photos. Also a small tear about 2 inches long in the upholstery fabric on the side of the drivers seat. (see photos) These are all the things I can think of to tell you about. Aside from a few minor things that will cost a few hundred dollars to get fixed it is really a pretty awesome truck.
Call me if you have questions about it or want to come take it for a test drive.

I am willing to deliver it anywhere in the continental US for an extra $1000 in case that's easier for you than to come and pick it up. The $1000 will cover my fuel, motels along the way and my flight back home.
The auction closed Thursday afternoon at 5pm Colorado time or 4pm Pacific or 7pm Eastern Time Zone.
Truck will go to the high bidder at the end of the auction no matter the price. NO RESERVE PRICE ON THIS. IT IS A TRUE BIDDING AUCTION. If you really want to win the truck make sure to get you best bid in early or else set the alarm on your phone to get back to a computer for the final few minutes of the auction to monitor your bidding status.
PAYMENT TERMS - Payment is due in full within 24 hours. Truck can stay where it is for free until the end of September if you need more time to arrange your details to come and pick it up. However, we also need the money from this to pay our mortgage at the end of the month so we require payment in full in 24 hours. Please only bid what you have on hand to spend.
TITLE AND PAPERWORK - We still have a remaining bank loan on this truck with our local credit union, so once we get paid by you we will pay off that balance to the bank and they will issue the clear title at that point. That process will likely take a few days to get the fresh title back from the bank. In the meantime you can verify this with our local bank if you want to verify they are in possession of the title and we will issue a notarized bill of sale as soon as we receive the payment.
