This very clean original 1965 Fairlane was recently awakened from a long slumber. Not sure of exactly how long but has a 1981 decal in the windshield. Showing only 103. xx miles believed to be original. The body is straight as an arrow and free of rust. This wagon has spent its entire life in Georgia. The 289 Engine runs great! I did not remove the engine but I did take it down to the long block and installed new Gaskets. Oil pump. Timing Chain. Water Pump. Thermostat. Alternator. Distributor. 4 core aluminum radiator. and Hoses. The Carb was rebuilt. I have the original wheels. just put these on to drive it. the originals still have bias ply tires on them and were very dry. The transmission has been rebuilt and shifts great. New true dual exhaust installed. Brakes were bleed and checked and stops great. Everything works well with the exception of the Gas gauge and radio. but it may just be unplugged. It still has the original shocks and will need to be replaced if planning to drive home I would install a set for the cost of the shocks. I have put around 200 miles on the car since getting it running and drives great. I would not hesitate to drive a distance.
