I am selling my 1996 F350 XLT with the Legendary 7.3 powerstroke engine under the hood. It only has 182k on it and will go up as it is my daily driver, but thats nothing for the 7.3. I recently saw that one of my buddies hit 1million miles with his on the original motor and tranny. That tells you as long as you maintain the truck it will treat you well. This truck is very clean and in much better shape than most of them around the east coast area. Has NEVER had a plow on it. The only rust is along the bed wheel wells, thats it! Minor rust on the frame but no rot! Cab is 100% rust free! I have done a TON of work to this truck and really don't want to sell it but i need more room and am getting a crew cab 7.3.
Everything done listed below:
- New Fenders because of rust
- New hood to match fenders
- HID Lights
- LED lights all the way around
- Cab visor
- 2 new batteries in April
- Alternator
- Starter
- Power steering pump
- Steering box (to eliminate that horrible ford steering play)
- Whole front end redone and aligned, ball joints, tie rods, (goes down the road straight without even having your hand on the wheel)
- Rebuilt Tranny; upgraded with bigger valves, and a shift kit
- Trans cooler upgrade (keeps it about 10 degrees cooler than stock)
- AFE intake
- 3in down to 4in MBRP exhaust with 6in tip, Straight pipe no cat so you can hear the whine of the turbo
- Also has a coolant filter
- Pillar Gauges, Trans, EGT, and Boost
- New Reman turbo from Ford - done about 1500 miles ago, Still 10 months on the warrantee
- Glow plugs, Glow plug Relay, and injector O-Rings all done as well less than 3 months ago
- Breaks have about 40% in front and 50% in back (Ceramic pads)
- Got rid of the junk obs fuel pump and put in a Efuel system. 6.0L pump mounted to frame, runs up to a super duty fuel bowl and front cover. 2 filters instead of 1, no leaks, better fuel pressure
- Alpine stereo and speakers
- Electric start, power door locks and windows
- New window motors (the windows go up and down faster than my boss’s 2008 F350)
- New Windshield wipers
- New Metal door handles
- Swapped out the bench seat for bucket seats (they have never been sat on) have had covers on them since new
- Window tints
- Oversize tool box
- Tow package with trailer break
- LED backup lights
- Strobes
This truck has never been beat on, and has never been chipped or modified in any way, its had a steady diet of Schaefer's oil every 4k miles, and also have been putting Archoil in the fuel and the oil to keep the injection system nice and healthy. There is very little blow by, just had a oil test done and there is no sign of piston ring wear or anything like that. Transmission, Transfer Case, Coolant, and diff fluids were all flushed and changed in the spring. HPOP was also recently resealed. Both fuel tanks do work and can be switched on the fly.
I do have paperwork for a good portion of the work done, some I don't have because I did the work myself at my buddies shop.
I know what this truck is worth. I have put a lot of time and money into it, and I mean a TON of money. I hate to see it go, but I need to get something with a bit more cab space.
