Up for sale is a 1953 Ford pick up truck. This truck has been rebuilt from top to bottom and features the following.
.ZZ 4 Chevy Crate Engine. Ford 9 inch rear end. Heidt's tubular front suspension. Under chassis has been completely sandblasted and painted. New early ford rear bed and steel fenders. 17 inch American racing wheels with BF Goodrich tires. Vintage air conditioning and heat. No Limit reversed hinged hood. Stainless steel front and rear bumpers. Trailer hitch. All new weather seals
If you're looking for a vintage truck that not only looks good but is also comfortable and highway friendly you have found the right one. The truck has about 10,000 reliable miles put on it since built 8 years ago. The ZZ 4 crate engine backed by a rebuilt turbo 350 has the right amount of performance without making it a total gas hog. Yup, no electronics other than a HEI distributor. All body panels are clean and straight with good underbracing. Any original rot was removed and PROPERLY replaced. In other words this baby is no bondo buggy. Very little has been done far as body modifications other than the air vent properly filled, firewall smoothed in, custom hand made rear wheel tubs, hand fabricated inner front wheel panels, front stock turn signals removed " small turn signals located underneath headlight buckets", and the hideous front grill teeth removed. The outside stock appearance was also improved by shoving them nice stainless steel bumpers up close to the body like they should be with the addition of a trailer hitch. Toss the ugly badge taillights and replace them with some from a 48' along with a script tailgate and this old slant cab looks pretty good without hacking it all up! The suspension on this truck features a Speedway front cross member with Heidt's tubular upper and lower control arms that gives more than ample clearance without bottoming out over every railroad track. The rear has stock parallel leaf springs that have been rebushed with the ever durable 31 spline Ford 9" setting on top, no wennie S-10 grinade for this truck! It's ride quality is great with a awesome stance that doesn't require the use of air ride. To put it in a nut shell this old 53' is a reliable, simple and fun without all the extra fluff. Beside's if you need heated seats with lumbar support, built in GPS and something that self parks then go borrow your mamma's new Caddy. The last 8 years of this truck being built I never had the air conditioning charged, if there is interest in a purchase I will have charged for you. The heater already works and air conditioner is all wired with hoses crimped and routed. The original windshield wiper motor is 6 volt and is currently not wired up. I'm not too keen on the ideal of letting her go but, with a growing family I need a bigger hot rod. Feel free to ask questions or ask for specific pictures and I will respond in a timely manner. If you would like to talk give me a call at eight - 1- fiv, 312, two, eight - 2-9 . This truck is being sold as is.
