1967 Mustang C Code 289 Features:Correct 289ci V84 speed Toploader (non-overdrive) with Hurst shifter from a 1968 Mustang (trans tag code C8AR-7008-D). Car was originally a 3 speed manual.Trac-Loc rear end (Ford's version of a Posi rear)Front disc brakes (4 piston calipers)New 2" dual exhaust from headers backNew Edelbrock 4 barrel 1406 carb (600 cfm) About the car:This is a frame on restoration of a very solid car. Floors were replaced (they had some pin hole sized holes, nothing crazy). Other than that no real body work was needed other than smoothing out a few typical dents and door dings.14" Styled steel wheels with GT center caps. BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires have less than 400 miles on them.Original grille, hood, fenders, doors, glass, etc. The grille's horse, corral, and wings are original pieces.Pop open gas cap (original, not a reproduction) Window lifters were replaced and all windows work as they should.New starter, new battery, battery cables, distributor, voltage regulator, starter relay, ignition switch, ignition coil, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and wiring from the firewall forward has been replaced (yeah, I like my cars to start and it fires up on first turn of the key).Heating system was rebuilt (heater core, heater box ($200 just for that), hoses, linkage cables, etc.)New radiator (correct original style) & chrome overflow tank.New chrome oil pan, new gas tank, new fuel pump.New weatherstripping around side windows and windshield. Windshield stainless trim also replaced with an original set (reproductions never fit correctly).New backup lights with new wiring, license plate lamp and wiring is new. Even the backs of the kick panels have new insulation.New windshield washer system (67 & 68's used the foot pump style with the pump lever under the dash). The 4 speed transmission was added prior to my purchasing the car. 3 coats of F1 Red paint, along with new black interior (other than rear seat which is original and in excellent shape). Door jambs, underside of trunk lid, tops of fenders in engine bay all painted too. Car wasoriginallyred according to Marti report. Sound deadening under carpet, along with all new firewall insulation. New sun visors, visor rods, rearview mirror, side mirror, door handles (interior and exterior), window cranks, arm rests, etc. The headliner is the only interior piece that had been replaced when I bought the car. Piles of receipts for all parts purchased for the car. All receipts will go with the car. Mileage on the title says 95k, the speedometer was replaced toaccommodatethe 4 speed trans, and that reads 75k miles. The current actual mileage is probably about 97k. There are a few things with the car which aren't perfect (as to be expected with any older car). The headlights and dash lights are on only when the high beam switch it depressed. I believe the switch is bad, but I never drove the car at night so I never addressed this. There's no radio, hence no antenna (I'd rather listen to the engine than the radio). The gauge pod I have in place of the radio is not connected in case the new owner prefers to have a radio, so it's easy to remove. Dome light doesn't come on. Needs a good wet sanding for paint to be perfect. No park brake handle (I have a new one, good luck getting it on). Horns are there but don't work. I have chrome GT exhaust tips new in the box, but they are not installed. |
