Description

This truck is not in running condition. It has a 6.0l Power Stroke diesel with auto trans. I never put power to the truck so I never read the mileage off of the cluster. The front of the title shows no mileage and exempt is written where the mileage would be. The last carfax report was 11/27/2007 showing the mileage at 92k. The rear of the title is hand written at 183k in the odometer section
The undercarriage of this truck is in perfect condition and still shows the factory stickers on some undercarriage parts and the frame. Looking at the undercarriage you would think the truck is only a year or two old with less then 40k it is very clean. The fire chief must always have the truck washed every time they returns. It would be the only way to explain how the truck is rust free and still retains the original undercarriage paint.
This is the perfect truck for a restore. Or just get it running and drive it.
I am not sure why it was taken out of service. The intake tube that was connected to the turbo from the air filter was left loose by the previous mechanic. It appears as if the state / city mechanic removed it and placed it back on without securing it. I did notice that the impeller has more play then it should and perhaps this in addition to the fleet being updated with new trucks is the reason for retiring the vehicle. One of the good things about all city / state vehicles is the maintenance. They do it based on a schedule and replace parts with OEM. It appears the sway-bar links, brakes, and some other wear items were recently replaced during the routine maintenance because the Motor Craft stickers are still on the parts.
The truck was setup by ford with the fire /ambulance package. It has a very expensive electrical system that I believe the alternator is able to output very high current. The I believe it runs a 200amp alternator and there is another alternator the outputs 120v AC that is run to a small panel and out to a watertight household plug. I looked up the alternator electrical package and it was over $800. The rear cargo area still has the aluminum pull out storage tray with partial rear cage. It also was setup for dual batteries.
They truck was red and instead of removing the stickers the state painted over them with black paint and a roller. The radio was removed. The fuse panel below the steering column is missing and there are no batteries. I will try and get a few more pics up.
Thank You
