Description

The opportunity to own a documented factory one off custom is very rare. Fortunately for you, this is one of those occasions. The owner of this 2010 Stage 3 Roush Mustang was in the process of purchasing a 2010 Shelby GT500 Mustang due to their great performance, exclusivity and available ultra cool black with red racing stripes paint job when he came across Roush’s Stage 3 Mustang specs. He was pleasantly surprised to find that 2010 Stage 3s were even more exclusive than and out performed GT500s in a number of ways. However, he was disappointed that Stage 3s weren’t offered with factory racing stripes. After doing some digging and making some phone calls he was able to get in touch with a Regional Sales & Marketing Manager at Roush, Tony Marszalek, who was able to authorize the production of this vehicle. Tony is now Roush’s Director or Performance Products.

There were only 103 Stage 3s produced in 2010. This is the ONLY one that came from the factory with racing and hockey stick stripes. On top of that, and unlike most 2010 Mustangs, it’s very well equipped (navigation, bluetooth, HID headlights and more). This particular car was picked up at the Roush factory by its owner and comes with the original plastic seat wraps and unopened Roush floor mats.

Summarized 2010 Stage 3 info from Roush:

Rated at 540HP and 510 lb-ft of torque (actual horsepower was over 600 as these cars put out over 500 rear wheel horsepower). Fully-loaded with the ROUSH® body components, resonator exhaust, four-piston front brakes with 14-inch rotors and painted rear calipers with slotted rotors and upper billet grille which streamlines the appearance of the Mustang while improving cooling performance. Interior enhancements include ROUSH leather seats with an embroidered Jack Roush signature, four-piece performance pedals, ROUSH illuminated sill plates, short throw shifter with black or white ball, supercharger boost gauge and console mounted Stage 3™ badge with the car's serial number engraved.

20-inch chrome wheels with Cooper RS3 tires were one of the few options available on this model (this vehicle is equipped with them). The suspension package includes ROUSH front struts, rear shocks, front and rear springs, front and rear stabilizer bars and jounce bumpers. This vehicle uses the same engine that debuted in the 2009 ROUSH P-51B Mustang. In order to get this type of power from the Ford 4.6L, 3-valve engine, ROUSH technicians replaced many of the internal components with stronger parts including forged aluminum pistons (with an increased dish to lower the compression ratio from 9.8 to 8.6), forged steel h-beam connecting rods and a forged steel crankshaft. The fuel rails are changed, as are the fuel injectors and an upgraded fuel pump. ROUSH also upgraded the clutch and included a custom-calibration for the ECM to manage the performance of the next-generation R2300 ROUSHcharger. As was standard with all new 2010 ROUSH Mustangs, this car came with the anti-wheel hop kit installed during the assembly process. The result are some of the best overall performing Mustangs ever made. More specifically, 2010 Stage 3s beat or at least compete with some of the very best supercars on road course race tracks and drag strips (this car has NEVER been taken to the track).

The documentation is impeccable. Every item associated with this one owner vehicle from birth to present comes with the car, including a letter of authenticity from the aforementioned Roush employee and window sticker that details its factory customization. The only good recently sold comp we could find for this car was the prototype for the Stage 3 based 2010 Barrett Jackson Edition Roush Mustang. It brought $79,860 (with buyer’s fee) in January of this year. However, a total of 26 (1 prototype + 25 production) of those cars were produced. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to own a TRUE 1 of 1 investment grade Mustang that will definitely appreciate in value for years to come.
