Description

1989 LTD Crown Vic 4dr HTEX: Hwy Patrol - Cop - TSAThis is the real deal: a true Ex Police Car even better . an ArizonA rust free front to back Ex Cop / TSA carThe car for the most part seems to have been not usedalot for transporting people judging by the condition of the seats etc. Either way it would be a fun car to restore to its original glory when it patrolled the streets and highways. Original build sheet included. ( 2 copies actually)Ex Police cars are highly desirable for collectors and anyone who loves to own a piece of history. VIN 2FABP72F2KX191638 A brief description of the vehicle: For the first 100k the car was a real Hwy Patrol / Cop car. then forthe next 70k aprox it was used at Tucson Airport Police carFrom aprox 175k to the current 213k it was privately owned and used as a daily driver up till last yr when the starter started actingup (and once in a while. it still doesnt want to kick out sometimes)ALSO since we have owned it for the last few weeks. it really smells really rich & there is a small amt of smoke coming out the pass sideexhaust pipe of the dual exhaust. It starts and runs fine. but I those 2 things should be looked into before making it a daily driver. Some people may just swap an H. O. Motor in it as well seeing asthey are plentiful and alot more HP. We did a cap and rotor on it because it idles a little rough. but havenot done plugs or wires yet. I dont know whats causing the smokeout of the one side and have only driven it up to the gas station afew times. maybe 20 miles in the last month. Check out All the pics below to get better idea of what to expect. Pics are worth 1000 words and we have pics all around and under the car below. about 150 total. Not sure why more sellers dont do this. seems like the best wayto sell a vehicle over the internet. DRIVETRAIN: best we can tell its a matching #s car with the factory5. 0 EFI Motor and AOD auto trans and 8. 8 rearend. Also stillwears the original Cop wheels of course. Front disc brakes andstill has all the HD Performance suspension standard on Crown Vicpolice cars. including Huge F/R sway bars . The car runs and drivesdown the road fine. but the Cop shocks (haha. old Blue Brothersreference) do feel soft and mushy. Keep in mind these cars areusually well maintained by the City very well in their lifetimes. If the car needs bushings etc I cant say for sure. There are some oil leaks under the car as well. INTERIOR: here is where the car has fair pretty well. It coulduse a new carpet kit. headliner and visors. For a daily driverIts liveable the way it is and could use maybe a good cleaning. It still has its Police Pkg 140 speedo and triple gauge pod pkgabove the glove box which looks great. CD player is workingbut kinda old. but it plays tunes !. The previous owner did replacethe ignition switch recently. but the collar around the columnis somewhat broken. the panel under that area needs the screwsput back. If I can find some speedclips this week Ill fix that. Both Front PWs work tooAll the AC etc controls on the panel seem to function properlybut the AC isnt getting cold. Seats are in really nice shape for their age. door panels arent too bad. but showing wear too. Look inside the trunk and you can see most of the original wiringstill there for the lights etc too. EXTERIOR: Original color would of been White of course and thencertain panels where painted black as needed depending on whatforce the car shipped to. The previous owner some painting of hisown trying to cover much of the white to make the car all black. Its not the best job by any means. but works for a driver. Im surewhoever restores the car will have it painted correctly and professionallyin the future. 1 of the best things about the car: I see NO SIGNS of any bondo or body repair anywhere on the car !!There is Zero rust on the body (thanks Arizona) and under the car mild surface rust at best. The chrome trim around the caris also in really great shape too. If you look closely at the picsbelow. youll see that some of the trim still has old blue maskingtape on parts of the trim they masked off before painting. Its been sort of a pain to remove from the heat and has been onthe car for several months. Factory Front Pushbar intact. But again its not a restored car either. SUSPENSION: all factory Police Pkg items look intact. it does have alot of miles on it. but was kept up prettywell too when a patrol car. Shocks are prob the worstpart of it and the front two tires are pretty worn. For not being a restored cars. its not bad for a daily. Im sure its going to need some repairs in the near futureseeing the cars age. Brakes feel good. but sometimesit feels like the booster may not be fully working. eitherthat or its not getting proper vacuum to work the PDB. Overall the brakes are fine. I can just tell sometimes the Powerassist isnt working 100%. Check out ALL the pics below ----->it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have aslow connection. so be patient AND looks for the extra scrollbar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. There you have it. probably The BEST represented Ford LTDs on Ebay. VERY FEW OF THESE EX COP CARS FROM THIS ERA STILL ARE AROUNDHERES YOUR CHANCE TO BUY 1 OF THE FEW LEFT OUT THERE AND WHERENTCRUSHED OR PARTED OUT>Shows you all the good as well as any bad. hope you appreciate them. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for saleand even if you have to pay shipping to your area. it still beatspaying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these daysspeaks volumes.
