1964FORD GALAXIE 500390 Z CODE3SPD w/OVERDRIVETHIS AUCTION IS FOR MY 1964 Galaxie 500 4 dr. This is a Texas car built at the Dallas plant and delivered new in Stephensville. Tx. The car still has its original owners card and manual. This car was ordered with a Z Code 390 with a 4 bl carb and dual exhaust. It was equipped with 3spd column shift manual transmission with overdrive. The overdrive works intermittently and I believe it is the solenoid on the transmission that is weak. It also was ordered with a 3. 89 rear axle. I believe it currently has a 3. 00 rear axle in it. This car came without power steering or power brakes. It also came radio delete. This was a bare bones Galaxie that was ordered with a big V8. manual transmission. and low rear gear. It has a Frigiking hang on A/C with a York compressor. The compressor turns on and runs quietly. The 3spd fan works great. The a/c does need a charge to blow cold. This Galaxie was built on Oct. 04. 1963. I purchased this car about 3 years ago and have driven it locally. It cranks . uns. and drives good. The transmission shifts good and is quiet with no whining or roars. The overdrive will shift in sometimes but most of the time it will not. I have checked it out and the switches and relay work as they should. The solenoid seem to be the problem. It has P205 75R 14 thin ww tires and they have very good tread. The brakes work good and do not pull. Remember they are not power. The paint is the original paint. There are some small touch up areas done with small brush touch up paint. The car has been buffed in the past so some of the edges display areas that have been buffed through. This is the original paint that is over 50 years old and displays accordingly. The interior appears to be original also. The front seat has been recovered and the cloth part is not an exact match to the original pattern that is on the back seat. The back seat material is thin on the top of the seat and shows some deterioration. The headliner is in good shape with no rips or discoloration. The door panels are in good shape with only minor imperfections. The carpet is ok but really needs to be replaced. The original front floor mats are in the car. The trunk is in great shape with an excellent trunk mat. This car is rust free and solid. It does have the usual surface rust underneath that a 50 year old car has but this should not be taken as any rust through. This is a solid Texas car that is a good driver. I believe the engine is a 67 390 out of a Thunderbird as best as I can determine. The data plate reads as follows:Body-54A- Galaxie 500 4door sedanColor -T- Navaho BeigeTrim-14- BeigeDate-04K- 04 Oct. This Galaxie was ordered stripped with a Z code 390. 3spd w/overdrive. 3. 89 axle. and radio delete. Somebody wanted a Hotrod sleeper or a police car. I don't know which but it is a great old sleeper. The mileage currently reads 99. 56. There are oil change stickers on the door from years gone by showing milage in the 60's-70's-and 80's. I have included pictures of these stickers. They were on the car when I purchased it. It seems plausible that the mileage currently is correct but I have no way of verifying this and am not trying to sell the mileage as correct. Use your own judgement. I have tried to describe this car accurately but I am sure I have missed something. I encourage you to ask any questions or come look at it in person. It is not a show car but is a solid driver with good mechanicals and looks. If you have less than 10 feedback then contact me before you bid or I will cancel your bid. This car is for sale so I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time. My last 2 cars have sold before the end of auction so I do encourage you to be diligent if you are interested.
