He bought it in the late 1980's. we believe from the original owner. It was a driver until he was not able to drive and then passed away. It sat in a barn for quite awhile. our customer towed it to our shop in 2013. Due to its condition and the story behind it. we wanted to keep the car in circulation. Our customer agreed to sell it to us. we agreed to have it restored and do it right. The car in its original condition looked like it had a vinyl top. which was removed and painted. It looks like at some point there was some work done on one of the front fenders. however as you will see from the pictures. there is no bondo anywhere on this Mustang. Superior Performance took it down to the metal. sanded it out. filled everything and started the restoration. The engine was pulled out. taken apart. drained and painted. The gas tank was removed. cleaned out and reinstalled. The Battery. Plug Wires. Filters. Alternator. Fuel Pump. Window Seals. Glass. Door Mirrors. Door Arm Rests. Window Regulators. Lamps. Front Grille. Rear Valance. Face Bar and All fluids are New. There are bolts in the head. suggesting at some point it the engine was rebuilt. It has a 289 V8 with an Automatic transmission. The brakes were taken apart and put back on. it is the original setup that came on the car. they are not discs. All of the electronics. gauges. lights. etc work. At some point the stereo was removed. we have the original but there is nothing in place currently. There was an Electronic Antenna installed in the rear quarter panel. It has dual exhaust that will probably need to be replaced. it runs fine and sounds fine. it is just an old system. The engine and transmission are both running very smoothly. we believe the transmission is the original. The engine looks to have come out of another car. The Interior. Upholstery. Seat Covers and Headliner are all New. So are the seat belts and door panels. The Body and Paint on this car are a 9. 9 out of 10. 0. it is one of the straightest. cleanest Coupes on the market. There are still some minor things to work on. all the major things are addressed.
