Offered for sale is an extremely rare 1939 GMC / Sealand fire truck. This truck is based on a 1939 GMC truck chassis and was bodied by the Sealand Corp., f Bridgeport Connecticut. There are only a handful of these beautiful trucks still known to remain, nd is an exceedingly rare sight to see offered for sale. It originally served on the Islip Terrace, Y Fire Department. This truck is very original, nd unmolested, ith some of its original paint and goldleaf still in place. Original huge brass bell is included as well. It was in storage when the pictures were taken. It starts right up and runs very well, ith great oil pressure and runs cool. It is an excellent candidate for an uncomplicated and straight foreword restoration. It lot drives fine, owever will require brake work to be on the road. The pump does engage and spin, ut is noisy, nd will likely require bearings, eals, tc. It is very solid, ith only minor rust on the bottom of the front fenders. This is a very small truck [ 22' long ] and will fit into any standard garage, s it is no larger than a full size extended cab pick up truck. It was not unusualfor cities to never title municipal trucks back in the 40's and 50', nd as suc, his truck has no title.Truck is sold on a bill of sale only.
