Description

I'm selling my CRX to pay for my daughter's wedding. I purchased this car on ebay in 2009. This car was originally an Arizona car. To my knowledge this car has never been owned by anyone in the Northern states so there is no salt induced rust on the car. There is no rust whatsoever on the body or underneath this car. This car has never been tuned or internally or externally modified. It still has the catalytic converter on it. Also. this car has never been wrecked either. Late last year (November 2014) the car was professionally base coat clear coat painted and the black exterior trim was repainted as well. The car was buffed and polished using the 3M process and allowed to cure 60 days before being protected with Meguiar's Ultimate Quickwax and being driven on the road. There are NO rock or door or any type of dents or dings in the car. The only place a VERY SMALL amount of filler was used on the entire car was the back lower compound-curved wheel well opening on the passenger rear quarter panel. It looked like someone had hit it with with a shopping cart. That half dollar size dent had been there the entire 6 years I've owned the car; it was there when I bought the car. And there. after the small dent was pulled out flush. the filler is very very thin. There is no other body filler on the car. I'm an Engineer and meticulously painted the car myself over a 4. 5 month period. A professional paint shop owner. a professional street rod restorer. and the managers at the local automotive paint store have seen this car and were all amazed with the paint job. The street rod restorer said that this is a $5K - $6K paint job if you were to pay his restoration shop to do this quality of work. The car finish is show quality work. I don't believe the clutch has ever been changed. It doesn't slip unless you ride the clutch heavily while accelerating hard. But since I never drove it that way. it never slipped during my driving. I never changed the clutch because it didn't really need it. The clutch still doesn't slip. I'm the only person to drive the car over the last 6 years. Also. I don't believe the fuel pump has ever been changed either. But since it hasn't given me any trouble at all. I never changed it. I've done all of the normal maintenance of oil changes every 3 to 5000 miles with Valvoline 5W-30 and a Wix oil filter. and I replaced the engine air filter every Spring. I adjusted the valves and replaced the timing belt about 40K miles ago and installed a new water pump. It needed a new radiator. so I put one on it a few years back. The AC compressor. condenser. both AC hoses. expansion valve. and drier have all been replaced. and the evaporator cleaned (it was already very clean). It was converted to R134A by the previous owner. The AC and the heater and blower and controls all work perfect. The AC is like an arctic blast that will freeze you out of the car on the mid and high settings. The tires I put on it are still pretty good. but are probably half worn. Since I've had it. I've done one brake job on it front and rear. I bought the car with about 120K miles on it and have put 68K miles on it during the last 6 years. I've gotten as much as 50mpg with it. After I painted the car. I replaced the windshield and the rubber gasket around the windshield (about $300 - the gasket wasn't cheap). I also purchased the rubber gaskets for the back quarter panel windows but they haven't been installed. Both of those window gaskets will go with the car. There's a picture of both of them new in the package. Note that the factory rear side window gasket top pieces were removed for painting and that the curved back portion of the gasket. which was cracked on the outer edge from age and the sun. were cut back to get paint in that area. The bottoms of the gaskets were not removed because they are glued in and will probably have to be cut out to replace them with the new gaskets provided. Another thing that's amazing about this car is that the interior is all original. Those are the original seats and seat covers and it's unheard of for them not to be torn in a CRX after 25 years! I did have some new foam added to the driver's left seat pad to keep the metal frame from wearing through the seat. One of the previous owners had covers over the seats for years. I removed the driver's seat cover for comfort and then I removed the passenger side about a year later. This was probably two or three years ago. And both seats are still in great condition. There are no known flaws in the interior other than a very small seat belt buckle indentation at the back of the driver's door (barely visible). and there is a small hole in the carpet hidden underneath the passenger floor mat (it has always been there). The steering wheel cover has never been off since I've owned it. but I suspect a very pristine steering wheel to be hiding under that cover. There are no cracks in the dash anywhere. The Honda radio cassette player that came from the factory in the car stopped playing tapes. so I replaced it with a Sony CD player. MP3. AM/FM radio. I have the original radio that will go with the car as well. I very recently put a new Exide battery on the car. I've replaced the wires. plugs. and rotor. The tinting came on the car when I bought it. It passes inspection. but it's just beginning to lift at the bottom of the driver's window. It still looks pretty nice considering it's probably 25 years old as well. I don't think the shocks have ever been changed. but it rides good as is and doesn't bounce either. I've changed the CV boots out with new axles. The only time I had a problem with the car running was once when the ignition switch failed. This is fairly common on Honda's. The same thing happened on a Honda Odyssey I owned. I replaced the ignition switch in the steering column with a new one which fixed it. This car is super dependable and runs great with no oil leaks. no smoke. and it doesn't burn any oil. This would be a great car to drive as is. or to restore the engine and engine compartment. or to tune it up with mods and have lots of fun with it. Since it's an HF. it's super light weight. lighter than the other models. By the way. the photo of the engine is with it totally undetailed - I haven't even washed the dirt off of the engine for the photo. As a matter of fact. all I did was lightly vacuum the interior. It's not detailed either. Just image what this car would look like with the interior professionally cleaned and detailed! Also note that ALL haziness in the car's body in the photos are either clouds or reflections of yours truly. :-) The car could stand a new set of floor mats. This car turns heads! Hardly anyone can believe it's a 25 year old car - an antique in Texas!I was going to list $7000 as the buy it now price. but since the engine compartment has not been restored I decided to lower it to $6500.
