When diagnosing a minor anti-freeze leak we replaced a heater hose only to find the hose broke down from the inside due to engine oil contamination.

There is a probable head gasket breach allowing oil to enter the cooling system.

Now to be sure, here is no anti-freeze in the oil, o misfire, moking or engine noise.

Runs and drives so smoothly you would not think there is a problem.

I drove it 5 miles - no problem and the temp gauge never moved beyond normal.

I want my buyers to be aware that you may have to do a head gasket job.

Shipping is recommended, ut it can be driven locally or more.

No - I did not use any head gasket sealer.

Breach is very minor and gasket sealer might work, ut if it did not work and the auction winner broke down halfway home, would feel terrible.

There is also a long crack in the windshield that runs along the bottom half of the windshield.

The crack in the windshield is not in the driver view at all.

Due to the crack in the windshield, he car will not pass NY State inspection.

Because it will not pass NY State inspection...

New York residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a registered car dealer, egistering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are using it for “Parts Only”.

When a car is sold as “Parts Only’ or “Salvage” it must pass a NY State “Salvage Inspection”. This is done to keep rebuilt wrecks that are unsafe off the road – especially vehicles with frame damage or airbag deployment. My cars are rarely rebuildable wrecks and therefore will easily pass this strict inspection process when the problem that is advertised is corrected. There are about 10 to 15 NY State salvage inspection sites in NY State – 2 or 3 are on Long Island and there are a couple in NY City. Call me for further clarification.

As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy. Sorry, don’t make the rules but as a used car dealer I must abide by them.
