This car was towed to me a year ago. It did not crank. The PATS security system had armed. The ignition failed as this is common on these cars. The ignition, eys and battery was replaced. As requested by the owner i removed all eight spark plugs and put oil into the cylinders and turned it over by hand as the engine had not run in some time. the car now cranked but did not run. The owner stopped responding to me at this point. I put a mechanics lien on it. When i received the title the repair began. There was no fuel pressure. New fuel pump, ilter and gas was installed. It had no spark. New ignition control module, lugs and wires were installed. It now ran but had exhaust leaks from excessive back pressure. the exhaust was dropped from the manifolds back. All nine studs holding up the exhaust broke and had to be drilled out. Believe me this sucked. The original exhaust was not rotted at all and the underside of this car is super clean with no rust. The brake and fuel lines have no rust. I painted the exhaust black and reinstalled. it now ran excellent. There was a belt noise. The belt, ensioner and idler pulley were replaced. I test drove it and found a vibration at certain speeds. The suspension and steering were inspected but they were in good shape including the bushings. The tires were out of balance. The front rims were bent and would not balance. The right front rim was repaired and refurbished but the left was beyond repair. I was able to find a left front rim after some searching and had it refurbished and installed. The car now had no drive ability complaints. Getting this car ready for sale meant checking everything. First thing was the headlight motors were failed. Both were sent out and rebuilt. If you don't know by now this is starting to get expensive and these are repairs that are common and they have already been done. Next the wiper blades did not work. A new wiper motor was installed with correct wiper blades. The under hood lights had a shorted wire and blown fuse that was repaired. The back window shocks were replaced. The shifter boot and seal were replaced. The air conditioning did not work. It was charged with dye and ran. The high side fitting was leaking and replaced. the air is ice cold now. The tool for the top was missing. I found one. Now that everything worked i began cleaning it up. It had tint on all the windows. The back window took me days because of the defroster grids and just how tough it was on. I had the car detailed and it looks good. The car has some scratches no dents or cracked fiberglass. The roof is pretty faded but it usually comes off. As you can see in the pictures the tires are in great shape as is the rest of the car mechanically. It is not fully restored. if you know anything about corvettes and owning them is that repairs are not cheap. All the repairs i have listed would add up to over 10,000$. These cars are getting old and these kind of repairs become necessary. I don't believe you will find a corvette that will last you longer without needing expensive repair. If the car was painted it would be a show car. This is a two owner car. It has never been in an accident. It is Carfax certified. The reserve price is set to 7000.00 If you watch it is rare you will find a 6 speed lt1 go for less than that. I have seen these cars go for 14000 with better paint.
