Just Some Quick History on the Buick Skylarks: Created to mark Buick's 50th anniversary, theRoadmaster Skylarkjoined theOldsmobile 98Fiesta andCadillac Series 62 Eldoradoas top-of-the-line, imited-production specialty convertibles introduced in 1953 byGeneral Motorsto promote its design leadership. Of the three, he Skylark's run of 1,690 units proved the most successful, nd an amazing sales feat considering the car's 1953 list price of slightly in excess of $5,000 was almost 50% more than the well-equipped $3,200 Roadmaster convertible it was based on. In the fall of 1960, eneral Motors introduced a trio of new compact cars for the 1961 model year that shared the same chassis, ngines, nd basic sheet metal: theBuick Special,Pontiac Tempest, ndOldsmobile F-85. The Special's styling was strongly influenced by the new corporate look shared with the largerLeSabre,Invicta, ndElectraalso introduced in 1961. Beginning with the 1964 model year, he dressed-up compact had enough sales to merit its own separate line, heBuick Skylark.Along with the lower-priced Special from which it was derived, he Skylark would move to a new intermediate-size chassis that was shared with theOldsmobile F-85, ontiac Tempest, nd the newChevrolet Chevelle. The 1968 model year was one of significant change for the Buick Skylark.Although still using the same basic chassis, ll of GM’s mid-sized cars adopted a policy of using two different length wheelbases. 1972 was the last model year for the mid-sized Buick Skylark. For 1972, he base Buick Skylark used the 350-cubic-inch V8 with the 2-barrel Rochester carburetor (now putting out 145 horsepower) as standard equipment. This 1972 Skylark is a beautiful original example that has only 37,012 actual miles with original paint that still has a factory fresh appearance This well preserved ‘72 Buick Skylark 2-door hardtop was built in the Framingham, A assembly plant the 4th week of May 1972. The car was ordered with and still retains the original 350-2V V8 numbers matching engine that runs extremely well and still has all the factory components with no modifications. The original automatic transmission shifts smooth and the Buick is fitted with power steering and power drum front brakes.
If you've been searching for a totally original and unrestored low mileage Buick, his simply stunning car is for you! On Jan-07-16 at 05:53:17 PST, eller added the following information:Right at the beginning of my ad I stated: "To start with, et me first say that I am listing this ’72 Buick Skylark GS..." As I am sure you have seen in the rest of the ad, he Buick is not a GS model but the base Skylark. I was not trying to deceive anyone and I apologize for that mistake and if anyone has submitted a bid assuming that the Buick was a GS model, lease feel free to retract your bid. On Jan-07-16 at 13:49:50 PST, eller added the following information:In the ad, mentioned: "The factory AM/FM 8-Track player was working when the car was picked up, owever just the radio lights up now and the radio is inoperative at this time." The issues with the radio was simply that there was no reception inside the building. Once outside, he radio worked fine. Just wanted to update everyone that the radio problem has been resolved. Sorry for any inconvienence.
