Critics said the 2011 Infiniti QX56 is quick and agile for its size and has a well-equipped interior, but it offers less overall cargo space than other three-row SUVs.

Test drivers agreed that the 2011 QX56’s V8 engine is powerful around town and on the highway. The QX56 comes standard with a seven-speed automatic transmission that reviewers said shifts smoothly. Rear-wheel drive is standard and four-wheel drive is available. According to the EPA, the 2011 QX56 gets 14/20 mpg city/highway with rear- or four-wheel drive, which is on par for a luxury large SUV. Reviewers wrote that the QX56 feels more agile than other large SUVs, and they added that it has direct, yet light, steering and a smooth ride.

Automotive journalists said that sophisticated styling and excellent materials and build quality give the 2011 Infiniti QX56’s interior a premium feel. They added that the first- and second-row seats in the QX56 are very comfortable, and some thought the third-row seats are spacious enough for adults, which is a rare compliment of third-row seats. The base QX56 seats seven, with two captain's chairs and a console that does not fold flat in the second row. Reviewers said this configuration reduces the QX's cargo flexibility. An available second-row bench seat increases seating capacity to eight and the entire row folds down. The QX56 has a maximum of 95.1 cubic feet of cargo space, which a bit low for a three-row SUV. The 2011 Infiniti QX56 comes standard with a moonroof, a power liftgate, leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, a 13-speaker Bose audio system, Bluetooth, a USB input, satellite radio, a 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, navigation and an 8-inch touch-screen display. Available features include a rear-seat entertainment system, a 15-speaker Bose stereo system, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning.
