Description

Very Nice, are 1989 Jaguar XJ-S V-12 Coupe with TWR body kit -- Rust-Free CA Car in Excellent Collectible Investment Condition. Clean Title. Under 60K miles. In San Diego, A -not Seattle.
There were only 4,209 of these 1989 V-12 Coupes made --under 15% had the TWR kit or options. TWR = Tom Walkinsaw Racing, aguar's racing team that won the 24 hour Le Mans in '88 & '90 --among other races, ith this same XJ-S Chassis and V-12 engine, hich is legendary for being one of Jaguar's greatest powerplants, roduced for nearly 25 years and often seen with 250,000+ miles. "The Thinking Man's Super-Coupe'". These were Jaguar's top of the line luxury GT sport coupes competing with:MercedesBenz560SEC-500SL-Porsche928S-BMW850i-Ferrari400i, tc.++ Current Hagerty Valuation of these in #2 Condition with more miles & no TWR kit is at $14,400 (Higher than my Reserve price) & Increasing. This is certainly at the better end of #2 Condition, ith 10%+ added value in the TWR kit Rarity.
NO Rust. Almost always in California, reviously owned for 14 years by a ~70-84 year old woman in Bel Air, A --always garaged & well serviced at a nearby Jaguar specialist. The car was donated to a private school from which I bought it in Jan. 2015. Nearly everything in this car is in great working order (except the Cruise control). All lights gauges, ontrols, ower windows & locks, ower mirrors, ower lumbar support, eated seats, ear defrost, tereo, wr antenna, indshield washers, rip computer, D changer, tc. work. The Barley leather is in great condition with some normal driver's seat edge wear but No tears, oles or crack-through. (I've just conditioned all leather with Lexol) Rear seats & headliner are like-new. The wood is also in great condition, ith minor varnish cracking on the console but not chipping off. There are NO cracks in the Dash. The Rare Chromed Sport honeycomb wheels are in like-new condition with almost no scuffs. The tires are good Yokohamas with 85%+ tread. The chrome and trim is excellent, aint is a 7.7 out of 10 with a few chips, small bumper scrape, nd some clearcoat clouding on the trunk & small part of the roof. The hood was repainted and is nearly flawless.
The car starts quickly on 1st try every time and idles so smoothly and quiet that you hardly know it's running. This is a 2/88 production Lucas Ignition car, ithout the problematic Marelli ignition -which Jaguar used shortly after this car's build date.
There is no smoke, o hiccups, o hesitation, o squeaks, o clunks or rattles, ust smooth instant quiet power --as intended when new. Solid Oil pressure at 50 Lbs. Alt. charges at 13+ Volts. All glass is original and free of chips, racks or scratches.Clean CarFax.
Just Passed CA Smog test in March --Tabs good to April 2016. Within the driver's doorjam are 2 odometer replacement stickers, st done 6/'94 at 19,105 & 2nd done 5/'96 with + 11,707 miles --current Odometer & Speedo Work Perfectly -at ~28,400 for a total of ~59,300 miles. I drive it a couple times a week -it's a fun, omfortable, reat handling, ast car.
Driving to San Diego from Bel Air in 80+ degrees & slow traffic was smooth without any sign of overheating --then after 5 days parked in the garage there were NO drips of anything on the floor underneath.
Driving this XJ-S is a pleasure and thrill which makes the driver feel elegant, omfortable, tylish, ast & powerful all in one. So solid, uiet & smooth on the highway, t's easy to be at 80mph without knowing it --going from 60-100 to pass is quick & quiet with the smooth thrust of a Jet. It gets tons of looks and thumbs up everywhere from people with great taste aged 15-90+ yrs old.
In the past ~5,000 miles it has had a tune up with new plugs, otor, ir filters, ew battery, oolant flush, ome new hoses, acuum lines, tc., he oil & filter changed less than 1000 miles ago. The front and rear inboard brakes had also been redone in the recent past.
This March I had the 4 front Subframe mounts replaced, ront wheel bearings repacked, nd a full alignment done --at Coventry Cars of San Diego @ $865.
This a car that I drive my mother around in when she visits, o I ensure it's reliable and safe --I've personally gone through the entire engine bay -tightening the several hose clamps, leaned throttle bodies, hecked fuel lines & belts, hecked/cleaned any corrosion off dozens of wire connections, tc. I like things to be correct and working right. The car needs almost nothing, nd will bring the next owner years of joy in a beautiful Appreciating Asset. It looks to have only 4-5 years of wear -rather than 25...
I have been a luxury/exotic/classic auto collector and hobbyist for 25+ years & judge at a few local car shows. --Aware of the Jaguar market, own 3 XJ-Ss. Values of these luxury V12 Jaguars have been going up 20%+/yr recently, heir limited production, eautiful design, igh desirability and durability will ensure increasing values over the next 15+ years. I only buy quality, ell-cared-for, ust-free, n-wrecked cars in excellent condition that will go up in value. An XJ-S in this great condition with Low miles is very hard to find.
Come Drive & Buy it before it's gone. You can enjoy it for a few years without much needed and then likely sell it at $20,000+. Better appreciation than most any other investment.
I will gladly work with you or shipper to assist with transporting of car at buyer's expense --AFTER FULL payment is received. I would not hesitate to take this car on a 1000 mile road trip either. The worldwide popularity & success of the XJ-S means tons of resources for parts & technical info. There are 2 parts yards near Los Angeles which have dozens of XJ-Ss for parts, nd I've got many other US resources to share with the buyer. Also see Jag-lovers . org and "Experience in a Book" by Kirby Palm --Free PDF download 700+ pages of great XJ-S info.
