Tires are Average replaced in 2011 have about 12,000 miles on them.
As many know, K8s of this era were prone to engine problems with Timing Belt Tensioners which were too weak and often broke--- no worry with this car! In 2008, he engine on this car was rebuilt with PROPER STRONG METAL Tensioners. Have all receipts over $3800 worth of work done! Complete beautiful laquer finish was redone in 2008 as well. She shines like new! Battery replaced in December 2014. Starts and runs strong! NEW Headliner done in 2009! There are only two greatly noticeable ding/dents on the car which are shown in the photos- both are on the side panels and are not large.
A Few TLC things are needed for this car to be 100%
1) Drivers seat could use a refresher as it has the most wear. The rest are 8/102) Needs a new rack and pinion as it leaks power steering fluid (common problem)
Other than that she's a great car ready for a new home! NO RESERVE! Bid Away!!!
BACKGROUND On the Jaguar XK8
When the first Jaguar XK8 (project X100) was introduced back in 1996, t brought about brand new standards to the luxury sports car market.
Available as either a coupe or convertible it far exceeded its sales expectations and rapidly became the fastest selling sports car in Jaguars history and in doing so won numerous awards around the world.
In 1998, n even more dramatic XK model was unveiled – the supercharged XKR. With more impressive performance and further improved luxury, he XKR added a new dimension to the XK story.
From 2001 onwards Jaguar continued to unveil a number of Limited / Special Editions XKs to their range and by 2006 (when this shape model finally ceased production with the 4.2-S model) they had sold more than 91,406 cars worldwide.
In 2006 and 2007 a brand new “Next Generation” of XK and XK-Rs (project X150) were launched by Jaguar. This time they completely changed the shape of the model (now in aluminium form) and brought together a 21stCentury looking performance car that would compete against the likes of its sports car counterparts.
The production of the XK sadly ended in July 2014 with the last model finally running off the production line (see below).
So there we have it, short but successful history for what is a truly fantastic sports tourer.
