MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this original, nmolested and seldom-seen 1973 Jaguar XK-E 2+2 coupe. Lovingly cared for by the original owner in the beautiful southwestern United States for 11 years, his car was purchased new by Dwight H. Tope from Melloy Bros. Inc., n Albuquerque, ew Mexico on January 17, 974, ith only 243 miles on it! The original window sticker and dealer order invoice is included and shows that this Primrose Jaguar left the factory with the following options: chrome wire wheels, ir-conditioning, inted glass, M/FM stereo radio and rear window defroster.

We say it was well taken care of because we have the original Jaguar Passport to Service booklet with dealer stamps from 1974 to 1985. For example, ccording to the service booklet, t 45,345 miles, he original speedometer/odometer broke. Mr. Tope had it replaced at his dealer on February 6, 982. We also know the car’s port of entry was Galveston, exas and that Overseas Motors Corporation of Fort Worth, exas, as the vehicle distributor.

Also included is the original Protect-O-Plate, wners operating manual, K Unlimited parts and service catalog, chematics, DI statement, riginal window sticker and the original sales contract and much, uch more! And if that wasn’t enough, here’s an extensive collection of parts and service receipts totaling more than $17,000!

Tope owned his own insurance company in Albuquerque, wight Tope State Agency, rom 1956 until 1984. He became its senior consultant in 1985 before he retired in 1987.

In a photo he once submitted to a Jaguar enthusiast publication, his XK-E is parked on an airstrip before a F-15 fighter jet that one of his sons, hris L. Tope, iloted during his service in the U.S. Air Force. The elder Tope passed away on Christmas Day, 003.

Finished in its still-original and elegant Pale Primrose, he paint shows extremely well. Both the front and rear body chrome bumpers with rubber bumper over-riders fit nicely and complement the body with only minor scratches upon closer inspection. All trim is brilliant and bright and is presented in excellent condition.

Inside, he original black Connolly Leather bucket seats are in good condition, ith minor areas of splits and wear. The rear seat is in similar condition. The matching black door panels, riginal Wilton carpet and dashboard are a continuation of the striking interior of the car and look great. All gauges appear and work as designed. Heater, ir conditioning and aftermarket Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo with cassette deck and electronically tuned receiver (ETR), added in 1986 – receipt included in maintenance folder) perform as designed. The original leather-wrapped steering wheel with adjustable steering column and dashboard with console lighter, shtray and map lights add to the proper British sport car look and feel.

This XK-E Jaguar comes equipped with a 272 hp/300 lb-ft, .3L 12-cylinder, ed by four Zenith-Stromberg sidedraft carburetors. The power is transferred to the rear wheels by a four-speed synchromesh manual transmission backed to a limited-slip rear differential. The driver assist features include power assisted rack-and-pinion steering, our-wheel power disc brakes and independent front and rear suspensions. Included are the original chrome 15-inch polished wire wheels and Jaguar center lock hubs with sport-rated Pirelli P70 Touring tires.

The Jaguar E-Type, r the Jaguar XK-E for the North American market, as a British sports car, anufactured between 1961 and 1975. Its combination of beauty, igh performance and competitive pricing established the marque as an icon of 1960s motoring. The E-Type Series 3 was introduced in 1971, ith a new 5.3-liter Jaguar V12 engine. The Series 3 is easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, lared wheel arches, ider tires, our exhaust tips and a badge on the rear that proclaims it has a V12 engine under its bonnet (hood).

Examples of this Jaguar’s competition in 1973 included the Ferrari Dino 308 GT4, he BMW 3.0 CSL and the Mercedes-Benz 450 SL.
