**. **Reluctantly offered for sale is my Mother's Beautiful Jaguar Vanden Plas. This car drove like a dream until one day, 2 month's ago, when the car suffered the famous out-of-the-blue transmission failure. It was sudden, unexpected and without warning. The car does drive, and is still capable of driving better than "limp home" mode, but it absolutely does not have the where with all to climb steep hills (as we learned the hard way) and really should not be considered usable as-is until a repair to the transmission is undertaken. For those who are mechanically inclined, this could be quite the deal as the car is otherwise in lovely condition. It had one repaint in the factory color 3 years ago and remains blemish free. The interior is, IMO an 8 out of 10. There is wear to the drivers sat and front center armrest, mainly cracking of the leather. Additionally, the headliner became loose over the rear seat and has been tacked up. It is holding fine, but not the prettiest sight rear passengers ever wanted to see, so that needs attention at some point. The rear view mirror is cloudy and the main amplifier speaker in the rear package tray has distortion when turned up, however replacements for both will be included in the trunk of the car and simply need to be installed. Beyond that, the leather seats are nice and supple, the wood looks good and is not badly faded and the door panels are great as is the dash. All functions work on this car including ice cold A/C! We have a copy of the original window sticker and this car has all options for that year minus the heated seats. It DOES have premium sound. Remarkably, there are only 59,950 Original miles on this car's working odometer. The engine is great and the car is very dependable. The car will come with all books and some records. Also included are the 2 sets of original keys (one remote has limited function; the other is fine) and the previously mentioned original window sticker showing he car cost almost $70, 000 in 1998.
