Maintenance Records SELLER REMARKS Nothing says classic and elegant like 1969 Jaguar. but this 1969 Jaguar E-Type OTS (open two seater) also represents your last chance to buy one that's actually affordable. With prices going up faster than price guides can be printed. this is an A-list collectable that's also sure to appreciate in just a short time. Primrose Yellow always looks great on the long. flowing XKE sheetmetal. and it doesn't allow shoddy bodywork to hide anywhere. The Series II cars had a few stylistic updates that included more effective exposed headlights. slightly revised bumpers. and bigger marker lights. all designed to make the car safer. which is especially important today. The paint and bodywork were restored several years ago and the car has been driven. so it's not a trailer queen. but showing up in this lovely Jag will always be an event. Of note. the bonnet fits well. the door gaps are even. and the trunk lid sits flush. all areas that are tough to get right on these cars and evidence that this car has always been in good hands. The chrome is also in very good condition. and there's plenty of it. from the almost delicate bumpers to the trim surrounding the windows. it has a very elegant. ornate look that is a big part of why values are skyrocketing. The interior is best described as "Cinnamon. and the leather hides are ideal for a British sports car like this. The seating surfaces show minor comfort marks but no major wear or damage. so it looks very inviting when you open the door. Matching door panels and a wide upholstered sill are part of the Jaguar experience and you get an exquisite Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel to hold on to. Big. bold Smiths gauges monitor the engine and you'll note that this E-Type carries both a 4-speed and factory A/C. both very desirable options. There's an updated AM/FM/cassette stereo in the center of the dash. but otherwise it remains quite stock. including the rocker switches that control the secondary functions and the hand choke for the dual carbs. A snug-fitting black convertible top stows under a neat-fitting boot and the modest trunk is upholstered in matching tan carpets for a finished look. For drivers. the Series II cars are really the ones to own. The larger 4. 2 liter inline-six provides deep reserves of torque that are very friendly for US roads and the simplicity of two carburetors instead of three means they're easier to tune. These cars' reputation for being unreliable is totally bogus. because properly tuned. they remain some of the best vintage cruisers you can own. The engine bay is neatly detailed and offers upgrades like a larger aluminum radiator mean that you won't have to worry about using it as intended. The suspension offers Jaguar's incomparable combination of handling and ride comfort and the E-Type benefits from the innovative independent rear suspension with inboard disc brakes for reduced unsprung weight. The dual exhaust system sounds spectacular and chrome wire wheels are genuine knock-offs with period-perfect 185/70/15 redline radials. This car will be sold in a matter of days. If you're even remotely interested. call now and put down a deposit. because it's unlikely you'll get a second chance at this price.
