Here is a great piece with a story to match. The Grand was purchased by a rural Minnesota gentleman back in the 80's when the Jeep was young but even then. he was getting up in his years. By 1990. the owner stopped driving the SUV. With forethought of a future recommissioning and faithful affection for his prized Grand Wagoneer. she was consigned with care into dry hibernation. Fast forward to 2015. The Jeep loving owner's heir decided it was finally time to let another gentleman enjoy her. just like his dad always did. Out of storage it rolled with the 1990 Minnesota license plates and registration stickers still affixed. Those artifacts remain fitted to the Jeep to this very day. The piece's cosmetic condition is without question excellent. Not mint. not perfect but still excellent driver quality. The paint looks beautiful and shines up as well as it would have back in 1990 when she was placed in dormancy. The wood siding is similarly appealing shape with. like the paint. just a few marks that are expected with any near 30 year classic that traveled 50. 00 miles. Apart from a small chip in the windshield. the balance of the glass is in a high state. The chrome is bright. The original wheels were wonderfully preserved and the whitewall tires are new. If your already impressed with the exterior than the interior will really persuade you. The cabin's appearance is nothing short of striking. The seats. carpeting. door panels and dashboard are all in incredible condition. Further testament to the fastidious owner's storage protocols. It does bear mentioning that the almost universally common slight droop in some areas of the headliner is present. Perfectly passable as it is however but the next owner can refit if so led. This all original interior's condition is as nice as I've ever seen on a 50. 00 mile example. The mechanics and electrics were all professionally checked and if needed. re-sorted. All works were performed by a first quality service center that has serviced many collectors Grand Wagoneers. The air conditioning and heater are working just as they should. The power seats. power windows (Including the rear window that operates via a dash mounted switch). power mirrors. AM/FM/Cassette player. interior lighting and dash gauges all are operating correctly. Only the cruise control and power door locks. which rarely worked when even new. are not operating. The engine. transmission. brakes. suspension. muffler/exhaust and undercarriage have likewise been evaluated and any needed repairs were performed. That being said. I would advise the next owner not to be the least discouraged if a bit of "romancing" of the Jeep's workings might still be needed after some longer road trips. That is a truth when enjoying any classic vehicle that has come out of anything from a barn to a museum with no use over several decades. It wouldn't be unusual to still need to turn a wrench or screw driver after putting some more miles on the trail. Still. she is operating smartly now and her test miles performance shows no issues.
