This car was in a garage for 17 years when I bought it. It was purchased new locally (Kansas City, issouri) and never been near the sea or driven in the winter, ccording to its legend. I put in fresh gas and a hot battery and it started right up! I drove it home, even miles with no problem. The gears ground in all four gears since the clutch was in-op and the brakes were non-existent but the car drove well and had a nice sporty feel to it (especially with NO BRAKES). Since then, 've piddled with it but don't have the commitment to finish the job, here's always some other priority. It has not been started for six years but has been in a dry, eated garage the whole time (a total of 23 years garaged).
There appears to have been one dent in the driver side, ehind the door that was well-repaired (Bondo). No other bodywork is apparent.
I am impressed by the apparent condition of the car, he fact that it is so solid, omplete and everything still works. The glass and all light lens look good. There's even a spare wheel/tire and all four tires on the ground hold air.
In summary, t needs brake and clutch cylinders, rake pads while you're at it. The clutch plate/diaphragm doesn't slip under a heavy pull. Engine starts easy, uns smooth, uiet, o leaks.
You will need a complete new interior, ust repairs, aint and tires in addition to the aforementioned clutch and brakes and the expected minutia.
I would not assume you will need to do sill repairs, hey are solid and not rusted through as far as I can tell. I was only going to repair the floorboards, ockers and doglegs.
More info and photos available to serious buyers.
