Description

The car is a real numbers matching Oldsmobile 442 (vin 344) in its original Saffron Yellow paint with a black vinyl top and black vinyl interior. I purchased the car in September 2009 from a seller in Tampa Florida. The following identifies the many upgrades that I've made to the car since then:
Exterior: The paint is in excellent condition with a bright luster and no chips or dings. The vinyl top is also in good condition with some minor pitting located near the rear window pillar on the driver's side, hich was present when I purchased the car and has not expanded. I replaced the front bumper with a new unit that compliments the front stance of the car. The tire wheel combination that came with the car was 14x7 Olds SS wheels and off brand tires, replaced those with 15x7 Olds SS wheels and BF Goodrich TA redials (Also included is a new SS matching wheel/tire with the correct bumper jack system and car cover). The front 442 fender decals were replaced as was the rear window with the correct tinted glass.
Interior: When I purchased the car it was a three speed automatic on the column which to me didn't fit the image of the car. I changed that to a console shift by purchasing a used OEM Olds console and correct shifter. I had the console rechromed and it looks excellent. Additionally, purchased and installed new correct front vinyl seat covers and front door panels from Legendary Interiors which are very nice. The original AM radio has been replaced with an AM/FM unit that also includes a USB port. The original steering wheel has been upgraded with a Grant unit that contains the Olds rocket logo. Also added was a tach into an open pod on the dash as well as chrome gauges for voltage, ater temp and oil pressure. The head liner has no sagging and looks fresh.
Engine and Mechanical: The drive train of the car is the original matching numbers 400ci engine and turbo 400 transmission. Both were professionally rebuilt in 2012 and have roughly 1000 miles registered since then. The engine was bored 03over with a mild cam upgrade that gives the car the sound cars of this era are famous for. The rebuild included Edelbrock RPM Performer aluminum cylinder heads, ntake and 750cfm carb. Also included in the rebuild were new fuel and water pumps, eramic headers and new exhaust, luminum radiator, ew starter, EI ingintion and coil from Pertronics, hromed alternator, uel sending unit, lugs, ires and K&N air filter. The trans was totally rebuilt with a heavy duty torque convertor and shift kit. The front drum brakes were replaced with disc and the rear remain drums.
Undercarriage: The underbody of the car is solid throughout. I refinished the inside trunk area with POR-15 rust inhibitor, rimer and GM trunk spatter and it is also solid.
Summary: This is a clean 68' Olds that is value priced given the quality parts and costs involved in the restoration. I'm selling the car primarily because I recently purchased another car and this one needs to find a new home. If you have any questions, lease call or Email. My phone number is 412-655-1178, sk for Gary. The car is being sold as is with the buyer responsible for pick-up or all shipping charges.
