2007 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Four Door JKU Rockcrawler Hemi LS Swap Project

Up for bidding is a used2007 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited X Model (Four Door) JKU. This Jeep is used, and has rust, and a good number of dents and dings. This Jeep has 161,060 miles on the odometer, and is a clear title. Miles may go up as we still drive this vehicle a couple days a week. Jeep runs and drives, with no major issues other than the ones outlined below.

This Jeep was purchased from Chrysler World in Abrams, Wisconsin in 2010 with 40k some miles. It was purchased as a Chrysler Warranty Buyback for a leaking soft top (this can be verified by Chrysler World's records). Basically, this means they tried to fix a leaking softtop three times unsuccessfully, and it was returned and exchanged since it was still under warranty. After purchasing, we did notice that under heavy rain, the driver's side door area did have a slight leak. We decided to fix the problem by removing the complete soft top and soft top framework and replaced it with a completely new softtop, one of the newer, cable style soft tops that didn't have the same issues the prior model tops did of leaks and bad fitment. The bonus to this is the cable style also goes up and down much easier, and does not use the old "tab into surround" style that was a pain to put up and down. Doing this has solved the issue, and we haven't had a problem with it since.

Wrangler has five 255/75/17 BFG Mud Terrain tires mounted on stock Rubicon rims.

Air conditioning and heat both work.

Equipped with a newer style cable sunrider soft top, so you can easily drop just the front portion if you’d like for that open air feeling. Soft top windows are OEM tinted.

5 Speed Manual Transmission, 4WD (with option for 2wd, 4wd high and 4wd low).

Includes factory jack and tools, as well as 2 keys, and original owner’s manual and documentation packet.

Definitely been one of the toughest most reliable vehicles we've ever owned. Only selling because we just bought a 2016 Wrangler to replace it. If you’re in the market for a Jeep, you know how legendary Wranglers are, this one would be a great Jeep to make a project build out of swapping in an LS or Hemi engine!

No check engine lights on, up to date on service. Passed this year’s eCheck.

Rubicon rims and tires give it a mean look without killing gas mileage.

Replaced Evap System Integrity Monitor December of 2015.

Replaced all four brake calipers within the last ten months.

Issues Worth Noting:

This is a 9 year old Wrangler, so if you have a problem with some rust and minor dings, or are expecting a show vehicle, this is not the Jeep for you. We’ve driven it almost everyday for the past six years, but it would also make a fantastic project candidate for a Hemi or LS swap and build. That being said, this Jeep is being sold AS IS, with no warranty expressed or implied. This Jeep isn't perfect, but it runs, drives and stops like it should and is one of the cheapest clear title 2007 Jeep Wranglers in the country on both eBay and Autotrader. With a little time and money, it could be made into a very nice Jeep.

Clutch is pretty stiff, probably coming up on needing a new one soon.

Door lock cylinders will need replaced at some point. They are very stiff and don't turn well. Lock cylinders are approx. $24 each plus $12 to key them to the ignition key at the dealer last time we got the quote. If I get to this in the near future I will update the ad.

Has some rust and dings. Interior could use a thorough cleaning. This was used as a daily driver and work vehicle for six years, so if you're expecting spotless this is not the Jeep for you.

Spare tire rim is a slightly different shade than the other four. Not super noticeable, but we bought the spare separately from the set of four and it didn't match perfectly in shade of color.
