This jeep is really back in its prime. I have had a new crate engine Chevy small block and AX-15 5 speed transmission professionally installed in the last two years and coupled with the indestructible Dana transfer case these things came with, this CJ is primed for another 56k miles. I have been working on it over the last 4 years and it has never driven better. My wife was not happy when I told her I was getting ready to let her go (the jeep). She loves it more than me maybe, but we are moving overseas and can't take it with us.
It shouldn't have any major issues moving forward as we have been slowly replacing older parts for newer over the years. Tires, brakes, and steering column all are in great shape. We use this jeep basically as a daily driver, as long as it's not raining (I only ever purchased a bikini top). I love it too much to rough ride trails too often but it is no doubt tough enough to go through any trail or mud rides as 4WD pulls and performs great. We use it around town and light interstate use. You will be hard pressed to find a better driving/riding CJ7.
We also have full soft doors that are convertible and a rear bench seat to go along with it. Currently replacing one of the dash switches but will be completed within the week.
