First and foremost, this is FOR PARTS ONLY!! One of the valves snapped and damaged the head as seen in the pictures. The vehicle was still running before it was taken apart to further diagnose the problem. This was almost 3 years ago now that it broke, but I have been debating on converting it to a gas motor, just never got around to it. Since the engine cradle is all bolts this could be done fairly easily with a donor vehicle available so you don't have to source all the parts. I was planning on doing a 4.7L since this has the 545RFE transmission which is more commonly paired with the Hemi and 4.7. The 3.7L will bolt to this transmission as well, just not sure how the electronics part would work since this tranny has an extra gear that the standard Liberty Transmission does not. It had about 92,000 miles or so on the odometer if I recall, but everything but the motor was in sound working order. I drove this thing through 2 feet of snow without a slip. It is the Limited model with heated seats and a moonroof. It also has the part time 4 wheel drive mode which was awesome and acted kind of like all wheel drive. I am sure I could part it out for more than my reserve, but really just don't have the time. I have two Wranglers for m girls (6 and 9) that I need to get started on. In addition to the obvious components I will highlight some of the other goodies.
GDE (Green Diesel Engineering) Hot Tune worth about $500.
Old Man Emu Heavy Duty 2" Lift (Maybe 5000 miles or so on it)
Rubicon 16" Moab Wheels
Brand New Radiator
Flawless interior
I live in Virginia, but the vehicle is located at my Dad's house in Kershaw, South Carolina. I would drive down for the sale and tie up any loose ends. I have the clear title in hand for an easy sale. If you have any questions just ask away.
